Michael: I think the countryside is much quieter than the city, too.

表推测的情态动词:
must be “一定是”,
may, might “可能” ,用于肯定句中;can’t “不可能”,用于否定句。

考点:
think about 意为“考虑,思考”。与think相关的短语还有:
think of“想到、想起、认为";think over“深思熟虑,仔细考虑”。
动副短语,代词作宾语需放在中间,名词可以放在中间,也可放在后面。
eg. They're thinking about buying a new car.他们正在考虑买一辆新车。

当我看见那个老太太的时候就想起了我的奶奶。

(1)quieter than “比……更安静”。...比较级+than...用于两者之间进行比较。than后面的比较对象可以是一个单词,一个短语或者一个句子。
eg. Kangkang is taller than Maria. 康康比玛利亚高。
The weather in Chongqing is hotter than that inYunnan.重庆的天气比云南热。
(2)句中的much是用来修饰比较级quieter的,意为“安静得多”,表示比较的程度。常见的比较级的修饰语还有:
a lot……得多;a little一点儿;even甚至。

(3) 比较的对象相同,为了避免重复,可用that/those代替第二个比较对象,单数名词或不可数名词用that代替,复数名词用those代替。
eg. The weather in Shanghai is better than that in Wuhan.
The texts in Book III are much easier than those in Book IV.
拓展:形容词最高级(三者及以上之间比较)
the + 最高级... of/in...
注意:最高级前面需加the;of/in用来表示比较的范围。
eg. Shanghai is the largest city in China.
Tim is the tallest boy of three.
