主语(事物)+be+不定式(作表语)表示主语的具体内容
主语(人)+be+不定式(作表语)表示将来,为“即将”之意。

(1)当主语是
建议: suggestion, advice,proposal
目标与计划: aim, goal, purpose, plan
梦想与希望: dream, wish, hope
职责: duty

常用动词不定式作表语,表示主语的内容
My dream is ___________(become) a painter.

(2)以What引导的主语从句,常用不定式作表语,说明主语的内容。

(3)当主语包含定语从句且其先行词为代词_____或者主语被___________________或形容词________修饰时,其后可接“系动词+不定式”作句子的表语。

动词不定式(短语)作表语时,一般情况下不定式to不能省略,但当前面的主语中有do的某种形式时,作表语的不定式可以省略to。
eg :

All you need to do is (to) read your book carefully.
