英语写作中的个人简介主要有两种。一种是单纯的自我介绍， 目的是为了告知对方一些个人信息；另一种个人简介是作为应用文写作的一部分，通过对个人的介绍来达到某种明确特定的目的，如申请某份工作，加入某个活动等，通常包括应聘信、申请信、自荐信或个人介绍等，并且以第二种考查居多。对这种文章的写作需从以下几点入手：
1.介绍个人基本情况，主要包括姓名、年龄、爱好等；
2.陈述个人优势(知识面、语言水平、特长爱好等)；
3.提出写信目的，表达期望。
案例
假定你是李华，你校英语协会招聘志愿者，接待来访的国外中学生。请你写信应聘，内容包括：
1.口语能力；2.相关经验；3.应聘目的。
注意：
1.词数80左右；
2.可以适当增加细节，以使行文连贯。
Dear Sir/Madam，
Learning that the English Association of our school is now in need of some volunteers to receive foreign students visiting our school, and thinking that I’m well qualified for the job, I’m writing to apply to be one of them.
