Add oil into yeast mixture, pour yeast mixture into flour mixture and beat until smooth. Put in enough remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, to form a soft dough.
·Turn onto a floured surface until smooth and elastic, 8-10 minutes. Place in a bowl, turning once. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
·Punch dough down. Turn into a lightly floured surface;divide dough in half. Shape each into a loaf. Place two greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, 1 to 1-1/2 hours.

Do you often feel that you aren’t taking in as much of the joy around you as you could I recently caught myself feeling this way, and based on a suggestion by John Horton, coauthor (合著者) of The Inner Game of Stress, I put myself on a 30-day life-appreciation course.
The only assignment each day was to go outside and appreciate life.
So I started by taking in the beauty around me. During the first few days, I was able to appreciate my surroundings, although it was an intellectual appreciation, not an emotional one.
After the first week, it was more uncomfortable to lie in bed and think about things than it was to get up and see them for myself.
If you often wake up feeling anxious or depressed, or if you don’t look forward to each day, then you need to try this course for yourself.
It’s an inner workout that you can do anywhere. It may not change your life, but it will adjust your attitude, and that’s pretty helpful in this crazy world.
I have always believed in ending the day on a positive note by writing a word or two in a gratitude journal and saying something sweet to my wife about the day we shared.
Now, I have a new morning habit. It hasn’t changed my routine one bit, but it has changed the way I look at the world.
Creating a new habit isn’t about perfection – it’s about getting what you want by creating a change in your behavior and thinking.
So now, while I’m making my coffee in the morning, I’m also appreciating what I have.
It’s quick, fulfilling, and a much better way to start my day than looking at my phone or computer.
And because of this, my attitude is better, as I’ve already begun my morning on a positive note rather than a problematic one.
The idea here is that if you can appreciate your life, it actually changes the way you feel about it.
Appreciation will give you more energy to live the way you would like to live.
As a means of improving our mood, it’s highly underrated The easy task of appreciating what we have simply makes life better.
4. How did the author feel about seeing things for himself after he started the life-appreciation course
A. Comfortable. B. Doubtful . C. Anxious. D. Depressed.
5. What does the author think of his new morning habit
A. It has changed his daily routine.
B. It has increased his desire for perfection.
C. It has improved his physical health.
D. It has changed his way of viewing the world.
6. Which of the following might the author disagree to
A. Enjoying the beautiful surroundings of your neighborhood.
B. Appreciating a cup of coffee in the morning.
C. Amusing yourself with your phone to start your day.
D. Seeing things from a different angle.
7. What’s the author’s main purpose in writing this article
A. To recommend a life-appreciation course to readers.
B. To explain why appreciation is often underrated.
C. To encourage readers to be grateful for life.
D. To advise all the readers to change their lifestyle.
A 5. D 6. C 7. C

A boy was sitting on a park bench with one hand resting on an open Bible. He was loudly saying his praise to God, “God is great!” He shouted without worrying whether anyone heard him or not.
Shortly after, along came a young man who had recently completed his studies at a local university. Being eager to show his knowledge, he asked the boy why he was so happy.
“Hey,” asked the boy in return with a bright laugh, “don’t you have any idea what God is able to do I just read that God opened up the waves of the Red Sea and led the whole nation of Israel right through the middle.”
The young man laughed lightly, sat down next to the boy and began to try to open his eyes to the ‘realities’ of the miracles of the Bible. “That can be very easily explained. Modern science has shown that the Red Sea in that area was only 10 inches deep at that time. It was no problem for the Israelis to walk across.”
The boy was stumped. His eyes wandered from the man back to the Bible. The man, satisfied that he had taught a poor, na ve (天真的) young boy something, turned to go.
After the man had taken two steps, the boy began to feel happy and praise lauder than before. The man turned to ask the reason for this renewed happiness.
“Wow!” shouted the boy happily. “God is greater than I thought! Not only did He lead the whole nation of Israel through the Red Sea, He topped it off by drowning (溺死) the whole Egyptian army in 10 inches of water!”

D
Many people think that we have to accept whatever life throws at them. They'll say, “This is my fortune. I cannot change it.”
Of course not! You don't have to suffer needlessly. Your life depends on you, not on any other external factor.
I know a woman who says she just accepts what life gives her because she has done everything she can to improve it. Guess what her lifestyle is She wakes up in the morning, goes to work, comes back home, relaxes, chats with, watches TV, and then goes to sleep. And the next day, the same routine cycle follows.
Is this what she calls “doing her best” She believes she has tried her best and just accepts it that this is the life that has been intended for her, and that her luck can only change if God wills it. She hasn't realized that we have to do our share of making the effort to live the life of our dreams.
Remember that you harvest what your sow. You have to get off the sofa, get your eyes off the TV screen, get your hands off the phone, and get your mind and body to work! Don't expect your luck to change unless you do something about it. If something goes wrong, don't just regard it as a temporary setback; instead, learn your lesson, make the most of the situation, and do something to solve the problem. It's not enough to think positively;you also have to act positively.
If someone's life is in trouble, do you just hope and pray that things will turn out fine Of course not! You get to do anything you can to save the person. So it is with your own life. It is not enough to hope for the best, but you have to do your best. In other words, don't just stand (or sit) there, do something to improve your life.
12. The text is mainly written to advise you to ________.
A. improve your life B. understand yourself

13. From the passage, we can see that the woman ________.
A. enjoys her life very much B. takes her way of life for granted
C. tries her best to improve her life D. fails to achieve her life goal
14. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage
A. Many people do little to change their life.
B. You have to count on others for success.
C. One can harvest everything with great efforts.
D. Few people are willing to make full use of setbacks.
15. In Paragraph 5, the author stresses the importance of ________.
A. positive thinking B. hope for the best
C. positive action D. good luck
A 13. B 14. A 15. C

Color is fundamental in home design — something you’ll always have in every room. A grasp of how to manage color in your spaces is one of the first steps to creating rooms you’ll love to live in. Do you want a room that’s full of life Professional Or are you just looking for a place to relax after a long day ____16____
Over the years, there have been a number of different techniques to help designers approach this important point. ____17____ But good news is that there’re really only three kinds of decisions you need to make about color in your home: the small ones, the medium ones, and the large ones.
____18____ They’re the little spots of color like throw pillows, mirrors and baskets that most of us use to add visual interest to our rooms. Less tiring than painting your walls and less expensive than buying a colorful sofa, small color choices bring with them the significant benefit of being easily changeable.
Medium color choices are generally furniture pieces such as sofas, dinner tables or bookshelves. ____19____ They require a bigger commitment than smaller ones, and they have a more powerful effect on the feeling of a space.
The large color decisions in your rooms concern the walls, ceilings, and floors. ____20____ So it pays to be sure, because you want to get it right the first time.
A. While all of them are useful, they can get a little complex.
B. Small color choices are the ones we’re most familiar with.
C. It’s not really a good idea to use too many small color pieces.
D. When looking for room color ideas, start by embracing color theory.
E. Color choices in this range are a step up from the small ones in two major ways.
F. Whatever you’re looking for, color is the key to making a room feel the way you want it to feel.
G. Whether you’re looking at wallpaper or paint, the time, effort and relative expense put into it are important.
F 17. A 18. B 19. E 20. G
前文“Do you want a room that’s full of life Professional Or are you just looking for a place to relax after a long day (你想要一个充满活力的房间吗?专业的吗?或者你只是想在漫长的一天后找个地方放松一下)”以问题的方式呈现我们对房间的不同需求,因此F项“Whatever you’re looking for, color is the key to making a room feel the way you want it to feel. (无论你在寻找什么,颜色是让房间感觉像你想要的感觉的关键)”符合语境,指出颜色是关键,承接前文的不同需求,其中的looking for和前文的looking for是同词复现。故选F。
【17题详解】
前文“Over the years, there have been a number of different techniques to help designers approach this important point. (多年来,已经出现了许多不同的技术来帮助设计师处理这一点)”说明有很多处理房间颜色的技术,因此A项“While all of them are useful, they can get a little complex. (虽然它们都很有用,但它们可能会变得有点复杂)”符合语境,指出这些技术会有点复杂,和前文形成转折,其中的they指代前文的a number of different techniques。故选A。
前文“But good news is that there’re really only three kinds of decisions you need to make about color in your home: the small ones, the medium ones, and the large ones. (但好消息是,关于家里的颜色,你只需要做出三种决定:小面积的、中等面积的和大面积的)”提到三种决定,下面三段内容分别围绕一个决定展开,后文“They’re the little spots of color like throw pillows, mirrors and baskets that most of us use to add visual interest to our rooms. (它们是小小的彩色点,例如抱枕、镜子和篮子,我们大多数人用它们来给房间增添视觉趣味)”解释了小面积的颜色的意思和作用,因此B项“Small color choices are the ones we’re most familiar with. (小面积颜色的选择是我们最熟悉的)”符合语境,引出小面积颜色的选择,承接前文,契合后文内容,其中的Small与前文的small是同词复现,同时与下面两段第一句中的“Medium color choices”和“The large color decisions”相呼应。故选B。
【19题详解】
前文“Medium color choices are generally furniture pieces such as sofas, dinner tables or bookshelves. (中等面积颜色的选择通常是沙发、餐桌或书架等家具)”说明中等面积颜色的选择内容,后文“They require a bigger commitment than smaller ones, and they have a more powerful effect on the feeling of a space. (与小面积颜色相比,它们需要更大的投入,它们对空间的感觉有更强大的影响)”将中等面积颜色的选择和小面积的进行了具体比较,因此E项“Color choices in this range are a step up from the small ones in two major ways. (从两个主要方面来说,这个范围的颜色选择比小范围的颜色选择要更进一步)”符合语境,点明中等面积颜色的选择与小面积的在两个方面有差异,承接前文,引出后文具体的比较,其中的small ones与后文的smaller ones呼应。故选E。
【20题详解】
前文“The large color decisions in your rooms concern the walls, ceilings, and floors. (你房间里大面积的颜色选择涉及墙壁、天花板和地板)”说明大面积颜色的选择内容,后文“So it pays to be sure, because you want to get it right the first time. (所以肯定是值得的,因为你想第一次就做对)”解释做某件事的价值,因此G项“Whether you’re looking at wallpaper or paint, the time, effort and relative expense put into it are important. (无论你是在看壁纸还是油漆,投入的时间、精力和相对的费用都是重要的)”符合语境,指出需要投入时间、精力和费用去挑壁纸、油漆,承接前文,引出后文的解释,其中的wallpaper or paint和前文的the walls, ceilings呼应。故选G。

第二节 读后续写(满分 25分)
47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Matt is ten years old and always nervous about something. When the night sneaks up on him, he lies in bed with the blanket tightly up around his chin. The shadows on the edge of the ceiling make him slide deeper under the cover. And tonight is no exception. That’s why his mother left the light on in the hallway. To frighten away strange noises.
But that’s not all that’s wrong with Matt. He is also very unhappy. In the daytime he watches everyone pass by. He notices adults carry their briefcases on their way to work. He even worries about how hard they have to work. He sees ladies holding umbrellas in case the rain comes in the afternoon. He thinks a hurricane or a terrible rainstorm might come.
Matt always thinks the worst. He even lingers behind other children on their way to school. Some play friendly tricks on each other and tease and holler in loud voices. Not Matt. He has very few friends. In fact if he has to think very hard he can’t remember more than two. They live on the other side of Truro. So he’s pretty much alone.
That day was very special for Matt. He didn’t realize that his grandfather was watching him. He saw Matt go to school and waited for him to come out for lunch. He watched Matt eat by himself on one of the benches in the schoolyard.
It was right near one of Matt’s favorite squirrels. He watched as Matt motioned the squirrel to come across the yard to sit with him. A black blur raced toward him and then jumped up on the bench to take the peanut treat. Grandfather saw this and was glad.
Over the next few days, Grandfather was able to observe the kindness, which Matt had not only for animals but for people as well. When Sally fell off her bike and cut herself, Matt stayed with her until she was fixed up by her mother.
Most of the neighborhood children took part in a Saturday baseball game with their parents. Matt was watching a few children play ball at Victoria Park.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
Matt never played because he thought he was not good enough.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Grandfather knew this and wanted to help Matt.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
One possible version:
Matt never played because he thought he was not good enough. He was afraid of making a mistake. He was old enough and big enough but he was too afraid to try. He thought he would never be able to hit the ball. Then he would let everyone down, and they would laugh at him. And if he hit the ball, he would be too slow to run to first base, or he might miss the ball when it was thrown to him.
Grandfather knew this and wanted to help Matt. Holding a ball, Grandfather strolled over to Matt and yelled, “Hey, Matt.” Matt jumped up with great surprise. “Grandpa!” he shouted. “I want to play baseball. Will you do me a favor to play with me ” Grandfather asked. Matt hesitated, head down. “Sorry, I can’t. I play…” “Come on, boy! Let’s have fun.” With Grandfather’s patient encouragements and constant praise, he gradually felt easy to play baseball freely. Matt was confident and he did play in the very next baseball game, which turned out to be an unexpected success.

After the first week it was more uncomfortable to lie in bed and think about things than it was to get up and see them for myself.

After the man had taken two steps the boy began to feel happy and praise lauder than before. The man turned to ask the reason for this renewed happiness.

注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
