French writer Annie Ernaux won the 2022 Nobel Prize in literature on Oct 6. She is the first French female to win the prize.
In the words of the Nobel committee, Ernaux was given the award “for the courage and clinical acuity (敏锐的洞察力) of her writing”. Having spent over 50 years as a writer, the 82-year-old winner has published more than 20 books. Rather than consider herself a writer of fiction, Ernaux has used the term “an ethnologist (民族学者) of herself”.
Born in 1940 in a village in Normandy, France, Ernaux grew up in a working-class environment. Her parents ran a combined grocery store and cafe. She worked as a teacher before becoming a full-time writer.
Two books by other French writers inspired her to be a writer: The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir and Distinction by Pierre Bourdieu. The former led her to write about feminism(女权主义), and the latter raised her awareness of the huge gap between her and the environment she grew up in. Besides her reading influences, her “upbringing and experiences navigating adolescence and adulthood” also inspire many of her works, noted CNN.
Though the matters Ernaux describes in her books are serious and even sometimes heavy, they are always written in plain language. Ernaux described her style as “flat writing” through which she aims to tell her stories objectively, “unshaped by florid (过多修饰的) description or overwhelming emotions”, noted Fox News.
“She writes about things that no one else writes about, for instance her jealousy, her experiences as an abandoned(被抛弃) lover and so forth. I mean, really hard experiences.” Anders Olsson, chairman of the Nobel Committee for Literature, said after the award announcement in Stockholm.

Sam is a fourth-year student at Harvard Medical School, but poetry is still a big part of his life, now with a new teacher, Rafael Campo, who believes poetry can benefit every doctor’s education and work. Rafael is a physician, professor and a highly respected poet.
“Poetry is in every encounter(邂逅) with my patients. I think healing is really in a very great way about poetry. And if we do anything when we’re with our patients, we’re really immersing(使沉浸于) ourselves in their stories, really hearing their voices. And, certainly, that’s what a poem does,” he said.
Rafael worries that something important has been lost in medicine and medical education today: humanity, which he finds in poetry. To end that, he leads a weekly reading and writing workshop for medical students and residents(住院医生).
He thinks medical training focuses too much on distancing the doctor from his or her patients, and poems can help close that gap.
Third-year resident Andrea Schwartz was one of the workshop regulars. She said, “I think there’s no other profession other than medicine that produces as many writers as it does. And I think that is because there’s just so much power in doctors and patients interacting when patients are at their saddest.” Not everyone believes that’s what doctors should do, though.
Rafael said, “I was afraid of how people might judge me, actually. In the medical profession, as many people know, we must always put the emergency first. But, you know, that kind of treatment, if it’s happening in the hospital, very regrettably, sadly, results in a bad outcome. The family is sitting by the bedside. The patient hasn’t survived the cancer. Don’t we still have a role as healers there ”
In a poem titled “Health”, Rafael writes of the wish to live forever in a world made painless by our incurable joy. He says he will continue teaching students, helping patients and writing poems, his own brand of medicine.
28. What do we know about Rafael Campo
A. He works as a doctor. B. He is under medical care.
C. He is a literature professor. D. He knows little about poetry.
29. What does the author try to show in Paragraph 2
A. The importance of medical training.
B. The effect of poetry in medical treatment.
C. The similarity involved in poetry and medical work.
D. The present relationship between patients and doctors.
30. What does Andrea Schwartz think of poetry
A. It comforts patients’ family. B. It contributes to medical work.
C. It has nothing to do with doctors. D. It keeps doctors away from patients.
31. What is Rafael Campo’s view on poetry
A. It requires a lot of spare time.
B. It can provide a useful tool for doctors.
C. It has little effect on patients’ conditions.
D. It should be included in emergency treatments.

Do you like Chinese traditional painting and dance They are two important parts of the traditional Chinese art. But what about when they meet each other
This year, a dance drama titled Poetic Dance: The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting (《只此青绿》) was staged on CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala and became popular.
According to CCTV, this poetic dance program was inspired by the 900-year-old Chinese painting A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains (《千里江山图》), created by Song Dynasty painter Wang Ximeng at about 18. The painting is amazing in its sweeping size, rich coloration and the expressive details, reported by CCTV. It shows a Chinese blue-green landscape: mountains and groupings of infinite (无限的) rise and fall between cloudless sky and rippling (涟漪的) water.
When the dancers moved elegantly, audiences seemed to be looking at the moving mountains and rivers. “It brings me a pure experience of beauty. It is not only a drama but also an exhibition. Vast mountains and rivers are coming to life!” Internet user Mo Weisha wrote in a review. “More than a thousand years later, green mountains and rivers still impress people as they did long ago.” Some people even decided to watch the dance again when it was staged in the theaters later. In fact, in recent years, more and more modern shows have featured Chinese traditional culture and received warm welcome. As for the reason, it is due to people’s great love for traditional culture.
“The younger generations have grown up with a more open mind. They accept Chinese culture and are proud of it,” Yao Wei, director of Henan TV Station’s Innovation Center, told China Daily.
32.What’s the writing purpose of paragraph 1

D.An old Chinese traditional painting.
34.Why did this poetic dance enjoy welcome
A.Traditional culture is accepted and loved by people.
B.Green mountains and rivers greatly impress people.
C.The poetic dance can be staged in the theaters later.
D.Increasing modern shows feature Chinese traditional culture.
35.What’s the main idea of the whole text

第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
When it comes to comfort, most travelers would pick trains over planes any day. Trains usually offer more leg and elbow room than airplanes. Besides, there are no seat belt signs to keep you from getting up and moving around. And yet, being stuck in a seat for hours on end means long train rides can still be challenging on the body and mind. 36
If budget permits, upgrading your seat is perhaps the most important thing you can do to make a long train ride more comfortable. 37 Therefore, you can lie down on overnight rides, or a first-class or business-class seat instead of a spot in coach to land yourself more legroom and a footrest.
A tablet(平板电脑) stocked with books, movies, and music can be a lifesaver on long train rides. However, you’ll need a plan for keeping it charged. 38 Make sure you have the right adapter for your charger if you’re traveling in a foreign country. Consider bringing along some low-tech forms of entertainment, too, like travel games or even a simple pack of cards.
39 Similarly, window seats on trains appeal to train riders. After all, you’re even more likely to have scenery worth seeing out the windows of a train.
Part of the appeal of traveling by train is watching a variety of landscapes slip by outside your window, but once darkness falls — or if you simply need a nap — you might want to escape from the outside world for a while. 40
A.No two train rides are made alike.
B.Some trains have power ports at every seat.
C.That might mean booking a sleeper cabin instead of a seat.
D.Taking plenty of snacks is a wise idea to kill your time on board.
E.Noise-free headphones are a good choice if you like to fall asleep to music.
F.The following tips will help make your next long rail journey more comfortable.
G.Window seats on planes are popular with travelers who like to enjoy the views.

“Mary! Come and see what I have brought home!” My father opened the door and shouted cheerfully.
“Is it a dog ” I asked when I saw him hugging a huge creature in his arms.
My father nodded and put the dog on the floor. When it ran toward me, I pressed my hands tightly over my mouth to hold back a scream. I turned around and rushed back to my room. I locked up the door as soon as I could.
Since I was attacked by a wild dog two months ago, I had been living in constant fear of dogs. I was confused why my father was so happy to bring home such a scary thing. So I decided to stay in my room until the dog was gone. After what seemed like ages, I heard the door open and shut.
“Finally!” I breathed in relief and opened the door cautiously.
To my shock, I felt something wet touching my foot. It was the dog! I froze there, as if my feet were rooted to the ground. When I regained my senses, I screamed, “Daddy! It is the dog! Help! It wants to bite me! Get it away from me!”
My father was standing by the other side of the door, folding his arms and encouraged me,“It is not going to eat you! Mary, don’t be so scared. Go on! Touch it!”
I tried my best to control my fear and bent down to touch the dog. But I could not do it due to my constant and uncontrollable shaking.
“Never! I will never touch that dirty thing! Take it away!” I shouted.
My father turned a deaf ear to my request. In despair, I picked up a tennis ball that happened to be on the floor and threw it at the dog.
注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;
