By now, most people know they should be eating more vegetables. But are there ways to get more from the vegetables you already cat A research shows that when it comes to vegetables, it's not only how much we eat, but also how we prepare them, that decides the vitamins and other nutrients that enter our body.
Many studies show that people who eat lots of vegetables have less heart disease, and eye problems and even cancer, But raw vegetables are not always best. The researchers found that 198 Germans who cat raw food were short of lycopene, the matter found in tomatoes and other red vegetables. "There is an idea that raw foods are always going to be better," says Steven K. Clinton, a professor at Ohio State University. "For fruits and vegetables, sometimes a little bit of cooking can be helpful."
A number of' factors decide how the vegetables are good to people's health before they reach the table, including where and how they were grown and stored before being bought. No single cooking way is best. Some nutrients are easily lost in cooking if they are cooked in different ways.
Vitamins C and B are often lost. In January, another report said that boiling was better for carrots than frying or serving them raw. Frying was the worst way to cook.
What cooked with the vegetables can also be important When the vegetables were cooked with fat, the diners can get more nutrients. Fat can also make the taste of vegetables better, meaning that people will eat more of them. Putting on some other things that make it taste better- -a little salt- can make the food taste better.
32. The writer mainly wants to tell us that
A. people should eat more vegetables B. eating vegetables is good for us
C. how much vegetables one should eat D. how people eat vegetables is important.
33. The people who eat the raw vegetables for a long time will
A. have the eyes problems B. have heart disease
C. bate eating tomatoes D. be a lack of lycopene
34. The following decide how the vegetables are good to people EXCEPT
A. the price at which the vegetable are sold B. the place where the vegetables are grown
C. the way how the vegetables are stored D. the way how the vegetables are prepared
35. From the last paragraph, we can know.
A. it's better to cook vegetables with the fat
B. the more fat in the cooking, the fewer vegetables people will eat
C. its better to cook the vegetables without salt
D. the fat will increase the nutrition of the vegetables

“Surprise!" was the first thing I heard when I opened the door. My family and friends were all smiling at me. There were colorful balloons all over the house, a big poster saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY", and of course a cake with 12 candles. It was a wonderful feeling, I knew that I had finally turned twelve and I might possibly get the thing I wanted most.
I saw my mom and dad coming towards me with a small box which seemed to be a birthday present. When I opened the box, I couldn't believe my eyes. I had really gotten a mobile phone! Throwing myself into their arms, I let out a cry of joy,“Thank you! I love you guys!" “You're welcome. We knew this was going to make you happy but we didn't only get you this because you turned twelve, but also because you are doing well in school. We expect you to keep getting good grades."“Of course I will." I said confidently.
As soon as I got to school the next morning, I was showing off my phone and asking everyone for their number. It was cool how I got so many contacts on the first day. It felt like I didn't even exist in that class anymore. I wouldn't pay much attention to the teachers because 1 was too busy on my phone. However, I didn't get caught using it.
I am pretty sure that the teacher did notice that I stopped paying attention to her because a week later we took a test and I failed. What was worse, my mom had to sign the test.
It was hard to show my mom the test. She was used to seeing A's and B's on my tests. Finally, I showed it to her, and she couldn't believe it. She was angry but most of al, she was disappointed.

第二节
One possible version:
P1: Realizing why I failed, my parents started to dislike that I had a phone.
They said they had noticed that I never paid attention to them. It was like I had
my own little world. So they thought we didn't communicate as much with my phone.
They regretted having given me a phone, which made me ignore the family and
study. Then I started to wonder if I was wrong. A week later I tried going a
whole day without a phone and it didn’t go that badly. I had so much fun because
I was actually spending time with my family and paying attention to them.
P2: From that day, I had a different opinion towards phones. Phones really take
you away from the rest of the world. I am not saying that phones are bad and not
to use them, but you do have to spare some time to spend with your family and not
get stuck with your phone all day.

airport to the hotel was awful. It took ages. The trip was all-inclusive, so
all drinks and meals were included in the price. The drinks were fantastic! The
hotel food was either tasteless or too hot, but the waiters were all friendly
and knowledgeable at least. John decided he wanted to take a trip to a museum,
so I went along. Actually, I didn’t really like it. It was pretty disappointing.
I surely preferred being near the ocean. The beach was amazing and I went there
several times. In the second week, John went off on his own into the mountains,
but I stayed in the hotel. I once tried going on an elephant ride, but it was
terrible. Elephants frightened me, so I gave up. The two weeks went by so quickly.
We got back last night and, all in all, I think it was a great trip, really
relaxing. I’m so glad we entered the competition.
