Activity 1
Look at the sentences from the reading passage and answer the questions.
They are different in form and meaning.
For Sentence (a) the form is “have been doing”, while for (b) is “have done”.
In meaning, the bold part Sentence (a) means the action is continuous from the past; while the action happened once in the past.
1. Which of these statements are true about sentence (a)
(1) Wild animals started using these passages in the past.

Present perfect continuous
3.现在完成进行时的状语
现在完成进行时所用的时间状语:this month/week/year,these days,recently/lately,in the past few+时间段,since+时间点,for+时间段。
We’ve been waiting for him and he has been working in the office for six hours.
我们一直在等待他,他已经在办公室工作了六个小时了。I have been studying English recently and have been learning for 11 months since I started classes last year.
我最近一直在学习英语,自从我去年开始上课以来,我已经在学了11个月了。
4.现在完成进行时的用法
(1)表示动作的延续。
But I have been writing all my life.
我一生都在坚持写作。(动作还将继续下去)
She has been training for the marathon for six months now.
她已经为马拉松比赛训练了六个月。
(2)表示在说话之前刚刚结束的动作。
I have just finished washing the dishes.
我刚刚洗完了碗。(动作不再继续下去)
(3)有些现在完成进行时的句子等同于现在完成时的句子。
I have been living in this city for three years. = I have lived in this city for three years.
我已经在这个城市生活了三年。
She has been working on this project since last year. = She has worked on this project since last year.
她从去年开始一直在做这个项目。
(4)大多数现在完成进行时的句子不等同于现在完成时的句子。
I have been studying English for two hours every day this week.
我这周每天都学习了两个小时的英语。(动作还将继续下去)
I have studied English for two hours every day this week. 我这周每天都学习了两个小时的英语。(动作已经完成)
She has been running every day this month.
她这个月每天都跑步。
She has run every day this month.
她这个月每天都跑步了。
(5)表示状态的动词不能用于现在完成进行时。
She has been loved pizza for a long time.
她爱吃披萨很长时间了。
She has loved pizza for a long time. (×)
这类不能用于现在完成进行时的动词还有:know(知道),like(喜欢),hate(讨厌)等。
5.现在完成时和现在完成进行时的区别

现 在 完 成 时 1.表示过去发生而结束的动作,并对现在有影响 Li Ming has just turned off the light.
李明刚刚把灯关上。(说明现在灯关上了)
2.表示过去已经开始,延续到现在,而且还可能持续下去的动作或状态 He has lived here for 30 years.
他已经住在这儿三十年了。(现在还住在这儿)
3.表示刚刚完成的动作或反复进行的动作 Police have just finished searching the area.警察刚刚搜查完这个地区。
Some villagers say that they have seen UFOs many times.有些村民说他们已经多次见过不明飞行物。
