教材分析 主题语境:人与自我之运动与健康 活动情境:某杂志社请读者来选举自己心目中的“体育界的活传奇”,学生在理解语篇的基础上,总结评选要求,推荐自己心目中的体育明星,并给出推荐理由。 语篇类型:该文本属于杂志文章,有明显的标题特点、结构特征和语言特征。文章采用了排比、拟人、夸张、引用等修辞手法。 语篇内容:本文选取两位著名运动员:郎平和乔丹。一中一外、一男一女两位运动员,不仅在体育方面取得令人瞩目的成就,而且还具备很多闪光的个人特质和魅力。郎平作为排球运动员和教练都拿过世界冠军,本文着重描述她的团队合作精神、迎难而上的坚定决心。“飞人”乔丹是美国篮球界的神话,本文着重描述他的不畏失败、坚持不懈和帮助他人的精神。
学情分析 本节课授课对象进贤三中普通班学生。对他们而言,虽然学习英语多年,但英语基本功相对薄弱,大多数学生在英语阅读词汇量较欠缺且表达困难或者是或多或少都会存在错误。尤其是在句子表达中,会出现句子结构不当、语法错误、或误用连词或语言表达缺乏流畅性等问题。
教学目标 1.阅读杂志文章,抓住主旨大意,利用思维导图提取主要信息和观点; 2.能够利用图片和标题预测杂志文章的内容; 3.能够就运动员的体育精神和表现表达自己的观点; 4.树立爱国主义情怀,建立个人自信心。

Step I Lead-in 1. Do you know some famous sports players/athletes 2. Can they be called legends Name some famous athletes. What does legend mean 1. To lead in the topic and arouse Ss’ interest. 2.To activate Ss’ background knowledge and inspire their interest.
Step II Pre-reading Predict the content and the type of the text. What will be talked about in the text Where can you find this text Answer the 2 questions : Look at the picture and title and make a prediction. Know the features of magazine text. To help Ss predict the main idea of the text and know the type of the text.
Step III While-reading Scan the lead paragraph and find out What kind of people can be called a living legend of sports Read Lang Ping’s part carefully and answer the questions. 1. Why is Lang Ping a master in her sports 2.What challenge did Lang Ping meet in 2015 World Cup 3.How did Lang Ping deal with the difficulty 4.What was the result Read Michael Jordan’s part carefully and answer the questions. 1.find out the transitional sentence and divide Jordan’s part into 2 parts. 2.find out the details that support Jordan was a legend with a mind-map. Read the text. Finish the questions. Check the answer. To guide students to get the basic information. To train students’ ability of fast reading and careful reading.
Step IV Post-reading What do you think of the two living legends A speech: Who would you choose as another legend Analyse their qualities. Discuss in groups and share with the whole class. To help students think and express their opinion.
