On a sunny day, three teenagers were walking along a city street planning a robbery. Their names were Harry, Tom, and Jack. They were on their way to a bar. Harry wrote a note to hold up to the bank employee: “Give me all the money or I will kill you. I’ve got a gun and I’m not afraid to use it.”
Tom got some fake guns, and Jack took his mother’s car keys so they could have a getaway car.
The next day, Harry, Tom, and Jack set off for the bank. Harry gave the note to a clerk at the bank while Tom put one gun in each of his hands and pointed them at the clerk. Jack waited around the back of the bank with their getaway car.
The clerk said, “Fine,” and gave the teenagers the money. But suddenly, an alarm went off because the clerk pressed a red button under the desk. Many police officers came inside from every direction. Tom got his guns and pointed them at the police. Harry ran past a policeman and went around back where Jack was. Then Tom threw his guns up in the air, all the police officers looked up at the guns, and Tom ran around back just as Harry had.
When Harry and Tom got to Jack, they all jumped in the car and raced away.
Harry, Tom, and Jack spent half a year in Fiji with three million dollars. They bought ice cream sundaes and surfboards and lived happily.

Jack, a clerk at the local bank, was wandering alone on the street. It was a cold, silent winter night. His mind was on his wife Linda, who had been in a car accident two months ago and was now lying in a hospital bed, waiting for more money for her operation. Jack had sold everything he had, and he had tried his best to borrow money from all the people and banks he could. But the real world is cruel. A large amount of money was still needed. To Jack, it would mean a great deal of suffering to see his wife die without any help. “I have only one option left,” Jack said to himself. Then he went to the bank, his workplace, again. For several days, he observed the bank and planned a theft.
The next day, he went to work as usual. Everything seemed normal: he joked with his workmates and helped his clients as he always did. But no one noticed that he had brought a bigger suitcase to work, instead of the small one he always carried. At 5:00 pm, the bank closed, and the clerks and the guards had all gone home. However, at that moment, Jack was in the bathroom, and the guards didn’t notice him, of course. When the noises coming from the street were replaced by silence and everything turned dark, Jack came out from the bathroom. He first cut the lines of the alarms and monitors with tools from his new suitcase. He was all too familiar with the equipment since he had been working there for 8 years and had been studying the security system for the past 30 days. Using a special key and some other tools, he then easily opened the doors of the safes. The bank’s security system wasn’t very good, which allowed Jack to take a lot of money. Several minutes later, Jack left the bank with a heavy bag filled with money.

The next day, they all dressed as tribal members and went around in a bullock cart (牛车).
First, they saw a woodcutter who was cutting down trees. They went up to him and asked, “Do you like this job, sir ”
The woodcutter replied, “No, I do it because this work comes from my ancestors. I was forced by my parents to do this job.”
The courtiers said goodbye to the woodcutter and walked away.
After traveling further, the courtiers saw a clothes washer and decided to talk to him.
One of them asked, “Hello, sir! We come from East India, and we are new to this place. We’ve come to visit our friend Ram who lives somewhere nearby. Could you please tell us his address ”
The clothes washer said, “Are you mad Can’t you see what I am doing ”
The courtiers asked him, “Sir, are you happy with what you do ”

But suddenly, they noticed a small hut. Inside, they could see 5 candles and 3 lamps and a man studying a science book. One of them said it was a school. They went inside and asked the teacher the same question.

Kevin had been eagerly waiting for the holidays to arrive. His mother had kept on hinting that there would be a big surprise for him during the vacation.
Kevin took out his scrapbook (剪贴簿). The exams had just finished, and summer vacation had just started. Now he was free as a bird — free to draw, paint, play basketball, and watch television…anything he wanted to do.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, startling (使惊吓) him.
It was his pain of a cousin, Max. “Hi!” screamed Max as he jumped on Kevin’s bed. “I have come to stay here for the holidays.”
Kevin had never expected his mother’s surprise to be this bad. If this was the start of his vacation, then the next few weeks were going to be the worst experience of his life.
The next few days were horrible for Kevin.
After breakfast, Kevin decided to make a painting. Luckily, Max was not around. Kevin spread out all his art supplies and started painting some beautiful scenery. When he was doing the finishing touches, Max entered the room with a Pepsi bottle. He slipped on some water, spilling Pepsi all over the painting and totally ruining it.
The next day was even worse.
Everything was peaceful until the evening. It all started when Max put the dirty clothes in the washing machine. After some time, Kevin heard some strange sounds from the washing machine. He went to check and found that Max had put his best pair of shoes into the machine, along with the clothes.
One day, Kevin was looking through the newspaper when some interesting news caught his attention. He read it aloud: “The world famous philatelist (集邮家) Dick Brown’s stamps were stolen last week from his house. Several other stamp robberies also have taken place, and police suspect that all the robberies are linked.”
This piece of news concluded by warning all stamp collectors to keep their stamps safe.
