Analysis of the Teaching Material 本课是一节听说课,是本单元的导入部分。主要通过邀请别人参加聚会的图文及听力活动导人单元话题。要求学生掌握一些动词短语,学会用Can you come to... Sure,I'd love to./Sorry,I can't. I have to /must...等句型进行有效交际。这些育是整个单元话题展开的基础。接下来通过丰富多彩面又层次分明的听力活动让学生通过体验学会用得体的语言发出,接受或拒绝别人的邀请,并能陈述自己的理由,本课是本单元的第一课时,应该通过简单的听力活动输人新的语言,发展学生听说能力。教学内容贴近学生生活,课堂任务应侧重于培养学生的语言实践能力。本节课在本单元中的位置举足轻重。
Analysis of the Students 学生进入八年级后,有了一定的英语基础和语言学习能力,语言感知能力比较强,英语学习的积极性比较高。发出邀请,接受或拒绝邀请,这是学生现实生活中经常遇到的生活场景。在本单元之前,学生已经学过了情态动词ca的几种用法,在本单元中用Can you....?发出邀请对学生来说也并不陌生,只是如何用英语来接受或拒绝意请对学生面言有些困难,因此,教师在课堂设计时应注重设计不同的情景,让学生学 会如何向别人发出邀请,如何接受或拒绝意请,拒绝邀请时理由是什么。本班学生英语学习基础薄弱,在英语学习中出现这样或那样的困难,对英语学习失去信心和兴趣,所以教师要以灵活多样的教学设计和丰富的学生活动,激发学生的学习兴趣,引导学生积极参与,鼓励学生积极学习,积极地进行语言实践,引导学生逐步养成良好的学习习惯。

Learningability 1.学会礼貌邀请别人、接受或拒绝别人的邀请,并能陈述原因;2.正确运用情态动词can,must,have to及might;3.学会在真实语境中委婉拒绝的表达方式。

Cultural awareness 学会运用交际语言的意识,学会有礼貌地邀请别人以及回答别人邀请的方式,学会承担自己应尽的义务。理解人与人之间的直情,学会珍情朋友之间,师生之间的友情。

Teaching Procedures Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities Intention
Step 1Lead-in 1.T says: Rick will have a party on Saturday afternoon. He will invite some friends to his party. Here are some invitations. Let’s see what will happen.2.Free talk. Give a picture about party and let Ss talk about: If you want to invite your friends to your birthday party, what should you say 在Rick的活动中体会邀请的表达和回复。说说你怎么样邀请朋友参加聚会。 通过情景创设引入话题—邀请,激发学生的兴趣。通过自由讨论,进一步活跃课堂气氛。
Step 2Pre-listening 1.T shows the picture on activity 1a, makes Ss predict that how to make an invitation(发出邀请)/accept the invitation politely(礼貌地接受邀请)/ decline the invitation politely (委婉地拒绝邀请)2.T asks Ss to look through the picture again and try to answer the questions: Can he/she come to the party on Saturday afternoon Why or why not 3.T lets Ss match the phrases with the pictures (a-e). Ss should finish it on their own. 看课本图片,找出关于发出邀请,接受邀请或拒绝邀请的信息。再观察图片,尝试根据信息猜测接受或拒绝。独立完成1a. 通过图片观察,获取关于发出邀请,接受邀请或拒绝邀请的信息。熟悉短语,为下一步听力做好词汇准备。
Step 3While-listening 1.T makes Ss look at the names on activity 1b, Then T plays the recording and asks Ss to write the names (Tim, Kay, Anna and Wilson) next to the correct students in the picture. 2.Ask Ss to listen again and try to tell who can/can't come to Sun Ning's party then finish the chart. 3.T asks Ss to listen and repeat. 4.Go through 1c, T lets Ss read the model. Then asks Ss to practice with partner. 5.T shows the pictures in Activity 2a and leads Ss to predict: Anna is going to have a party on Saturday, too. She invites her friends Jeff, Mary, May, Mei Ling and Paul to come. Can they come to party 6.T asks Ss to focus on the picture in Activity 2a and reminds Ss to identify the name of the person being invited in each conversation. 7.T plays the recording and asks Ss to listen and complete the chart in Activity 2a. Then checks the answers.8.Go through 2b, T lets Ss listen again and encourages Ss to take notes. Then complete the chart. 9.T lets Ss listen again and repeat. 先熟悉1b人名,领取1b任务单。听录音,完成任务。听录音,说出哪位朋友能/不能来,完成表格填空。分组练习1c对话。跟着老师进行2a活动预测。观察2a图片,注意人名及肯定/否定答复。听录音并完成2a任务单。区分肯定回答和否定回答。听第二遍,完成2b任务单听第三遍,并跟读。 听前预测,听中获取关键信息。帮助学生有针对性地去听。听中获取关键信息,完成听力目标。进一步掌握邀请、接受或拒绝别人的邀请的句型。预测2a听力内容。培养学生听前预测和听中提取关键信息的能力。
Step 4Post-listening 1.Go through 2c. T makes Ss try their best to write more about the reasons in the chart in 2b. T may elicit from Ss various examples.2.T makes Ss practice activity 2c. i.e. one S invite your partner to do something. one S refuses and gives the reasons.3.T shows the pictures in Activity 2d and leads Ss to predict: What is the conversation about 4.T asks Ss to read and answer the questions.5.T helps Ss summarize the ways to invitation. 学生根据2b内容进行语言输出。练习2c对话。猜测2d活动。根据2d对话回答问题。跟着老师总结邀请、接受或拒绝的句型。 进一步掌握邀请、接受或拒绝别人邀请的句型。

Step 8 Homework 1. Make an invitation and invite your friends to do something with you. 2. Make a report to tell who can go with you and who can’t and why. 记录作业。 提高学生运用目标语言的能力。

Teaching Reflection: 亮点之处
1.本节课的设计体现了任务型教学的设计理念,同时整个任务 链的设计均围绕向某个人发出邀请、接受邀请或拒绝邀请展开。2.教师为学生设计了丰富多彩的练习活动,由简人难,层层 递进,让学生在交际中体验学习英语的乐趣,不知不觉掌握了本课的功能句。3.通过两个听力活动,训练了学生在听的过程中 根据所给任务抓住关键信息的能力。并培养学生做听力笔记、记关键词或重点短语的阅读策略。
有待改进 1.由于时间关系些地方没有尽情地展开。所以,虽然调动了学生的积极性,却没有让广大的学生充分的参与。2.备课不仅仅要备教材,还要备学生。要根据学生英语基础的实际情况,设计一些开放性的资料来提高课堂教学质量。
