learn the table manners in France.
read and speak how you are supposed to behave at dinner tables in France.

2.Learn to understand 2b and know French Culture.
3.Develop students’ reading and writing skills.
教学过程:
Step 1 Warming-up
Have a free talk about French cuisine in France:鹅肝(foie gras)马卡龙(macaroon)
牛角包(croissant) 牛排(steak) 奶酪(cheese)
2. Lead in 2a.
Tell the students that dinner tables in France are complicated(复杂).
利用图片,激发学生兴趣,使学生了解法国菜肴,为课本2a导入做铺垫。
Step 2
Presentation Work on 2a.
What do you know about customs in foreign countries What do you think the biggest challenge is when visiting a foreign country
1. Talk more about France table manners. Steve told Yang Ming that his cousin Lin Yue went to France(法国), and she said that learning basic table manners was her biggest challenge. She never knew what she was supposed to do at the dinner table.
2.Lead in 2b.
Step 3
Pre-reading Work on 2b.
1..Read the letter once (3minutes) and find the topic sentence(中心句) for Paragraph One and Two. Then underline the topic sentence(划线).
2. Call some students to read the answers.
3.Read through the passage quickly and tell T/ F.(2 minutes)

4. Check answers in class.

Step 4
While-reading Careful reading.
Read paragraph 1 and answer the questions.(3minutes)
For example:
Ask: Why is Lin Yue in France (Pra.1)
Answer: Because she is on her student exchange program.
Let the students find the answer in the passage. etc
2.Reading for details
Ask them to listen to Lin Yue’s phone and read the paragraph 1. And then fill in the blanks.
Ask: What is the biggest challenge she is facing (Pra.2).All the students find the answer together.
Ask all the students to find the conjunctions and the key words in the passage. Check answers one by one.
Find some important phrases: go out of one's way、make... feel at home、get used to...Read them and learn how to use them.
本部分是课文细读部分。每读完一段都要完成相应的任务,以检测对文章的理解。通过问题设计,让学生带着问题阅读,提高他们的英语阅读能力以及解决问题的能力。学习阅读材料,做笔记或者总结中心思想可以帮助将短时记忆转变成长期记忆。

Post-reading Work on 2b and 2e.
1. Review: Present a picture.
Ask; Do the pictures show the good table manners or bad table manners in France
There are some good table manners and bad table manners in the picture, find them.
2. Read again and make a list of table manners in France.(4minutes)
这是阅读的输出环节。此处设计学生讨论中法餐桌礼仪的不同,并进行汇报,以此考查学生的总结能力。
Step 6
Revision
Talk about the differences of table manners in France and pare the table manners in France and China in your group. How are they the same or different
e.g. In France, people put their bread on the table. But in China, we always put our food on a plate or in a bowl and never on the table.
3. Students have a group work and share the ideas and they can search them on the Internet. At last, call some groups to report their two discussions in class.
Discussion One: What are the differences of table manners between China and France.
Discussion Two: What can we learn from Lin Yue’s exchange program in foreign country
This activity provides writing practice using the target language.

Exercises:
Writing: If you’re Laura, please reply to the letter, and give Lin Yue some advice on her challenges.
