Topic Unit 9 Can you come to my party Period I Section A(1a~2d)
学情 分析 学生进入八年级后,有了一定的英语基础和语言学习能力,语言感知能力比较强,英语学习的积极性比较高。发出邀请,接受或拒绝邀请,这是学生现实生活中经常遇到的生活场景。在本单元之前,学生已经学过了情态动词can的几种用法,在本单元中用Can you....?发出邀请对学生来说也并不陌生,只是如何用英语来接受或拒绝意请对学生面言有些困难,因此,教师在课堂设计时应注重设计不同的情景,让学生学 会如何向别人发出邀请,如何接受或拒绝意请,拒绝邀请时理由是什么。本班学生英语学习基础薄弱,在英语学习中出现这样或那样的困难,对英语学习失去信心和兴趣,所以教师要以灵活多样的教学设计和丰富的学生活动,激发学生的学习兴趣,引导学生积极参与,鼓励学生积极学习,积极地进行语言实践,引导学生逐步养成良好的学习习惯。本节课的话题内容是学生们非常熟悉的,与学生实际生活密切相关,容易调动学生已有的基础知识,激发学习兴趣及课堂参与的积极性。
教学 内容 分析 本课是一节听说课,是本单元的导入部分。主要通过邀请别人参加聚会的图文及听力活动导人单元话题。要求学生掌握一些动词短语,学会用Can you come to... Sure,I'd love to./Sorry,I can't. I have to /must...等句型进行有效交际。这些都是整个单元话题展开的基础。接下来通过丰富多彩面又层次分明的听力活动让学生通过体验学会用得体的语言发出,接受或拒绝别人的邀请,并能陈述自己的理由,首先1a-1c通过图文将学生带入“聚会邀请”的情境中,并在语境中输入核心句型Can you come to... Sure,I'd love to./Sorry,I can't. I have to /must.... "和重点词汇如:prepare,exam.flu.prepare for an exam,have the flu,available, another time.再通过2a-2c听力练习和2d角色对话,练习目标语言,巩固词汇和句型。本课是本单元的第一课时,应该通过简单的听力活动输入新的语言,发展学生听说能力。教学内容贴近学生生活,课堂任务应侧重于培养学生的语言实践能力。

教学重点 难点 1.重点:(1)运用所学知识提出邀请,接受邀请和拒绝邀请。 (2)正确使用can,might,must 等情态动词。 2.难点:(1)扎实掌握重点词汇和表示邀请的句型并能灵活运用。 (2)通过听力练习和小组合作,理解并能提出邀请并作肯定回答。

Step 1 Lead-in Free talk 1.Show students an invitation on the screen and talk with them. T:Hello,everyone!Yesterday I received an invitation letter from my dear friend.She invited me to go to her birthday party.But I have something important to do.I don't know how to answer her letter.Can you help me 2.Have students think about the question and share their answers. 在Rick的活动中体会邀请的表达和回复。 说说你怎么样邀请朋友参加聚会。 通过情境设计,以一封来自朋友的邀请函导入新课,请求学生帮助解决问题,激发学生的学习兴趣。
Step 2 Pre-listening 1.New words Show some pictures on the PPT and teach the new words and phrases in this period. 2.Work on 1a Let students look at the pictures and the phrases in 1a and ask them to match the phrases with the pictures [a—e].Then check the answers with the class together. 再观察图片,尝试根据信息猜测接受或拒绝。完成1a. 通过展示图片帮助学生掌握新单词,并通过短语与图片匹配加深学生对词汇的理解。
Step 3 While- listening Work on 1b 1.Have students listen to the recording and take notes. 2.Let students look at the names in 1b and write them next to the correct students in the picture in 1a based on the notes that have been taken. 3.Check the answers in class. 4.Play the recording again and ask students to read after the recording and imitate the pronunciation and intonation. Work on 1c 1.Show students a sample conversation and then ask them to make their own conversations in 1c. 2.Then let some pairs act out their conversations in front of the class.Pay attention to students' pronunciation and intonation. Work on 2a 1.Ask students to look at the pictures and read the sentences in 2a. 2.Play the recording and let students circle can or can't.Then check the answers together. Work on 2b 1.Show students the chart in 2b,and ask them to answer the questions: Who can't go to the party?Why 2.Play the recording again and let students complete the chart.Then check the answers together. 先熟悉1b人名,领取1b任务单。听录音,完成任务。 分组练习1c对话。 跟着老师进行2a活动预测。 观察2a图片,注意人名及肯定/否定答复。 完成2b任务单 听前预测,听中获取关键信息。帮助学生有针对性地去听。 听中获取关键信息,完成听力目标。 进一步掌握邀请、接受或拒绝别人的邀请的句型。
Step 4 Post-listening Work on 2c 1.Let students look at the reasons in the chart in 2b.Write some more.Then Student A invites his partner to do something;Student B says he can't go and why.Have students work in pairs to make their own conversations. 2.Then tell students to role-play the conversation. 3.Select some pairs to share their conversations in front of the class. Work on 2d 1.Ask students to read the dialogue in 2d and try to find out the answers to these questions: (1)Why is Jeff having the party (2)Is his friend Nick coming to the party?Why or why not Answers: (1)Because his cousin Sam from Xi'an is coming. (2)No,he isn't.Because he has to prepare for an exam. 2.Play the recording and let students read after it and imitate the pronunciation and intonation,and then ask students to try to memorize the conversation. 3.Ask students to act out the conversation in pairs and select some pairs to act in front of the class. 练习2c对话。 猜测2d活动。 根据2d对话回答问题。 跟着老师总结 邀请、接受或拒绝的句型。 让学生带着问题自读对话,可以提高学生的阅读能力;以表演的形式,让学生将所学内容进行输出,学练结合。进一步掌握 邀请、接受或拒绝别人邀请的句型。

Sorry, I’m not available. I’d love to, but I’m not free. Reasons: I have to …/I must … /I might … 跟随老师一起进行内容总结。 通过总结加深学生对本课时知识点的理解和记忆。

Teaching Reflection: 亮点出彩 1.本节课的设计体现了任务型教学的设计理念,同时整个任务 链的设计均围绕向某个人发出邀请、接受邀请或拒绝邀请展开。 2教师为学生设计了丰富多彩的练习活动,由简人难,层层 递进,让学生在交际中体验学习英语的乐趣,不知不觉掌握了本课的功能句。能在课堂准确使用目标语言中的邀请及接受、拒绝语句,表达个人时间安排和观点,并且对情态动词can/must/have to有了一定程度的了解。 3通过两个听力活动,训练了学生在听的过程中 根据所给任务抓住关键信息的能力。并培养学生做听力笔记、记关键词或重点短语的阅读策略。
有待 改进 1.由于教师急于推进课堂导致了在学生活动时没有给学生足够的时间,有些活动没有做彻底。 2.对本节课的情感目标渗透得不够。
