Aims: 本课属于反思和总结课型。是新课改主张的学习方法之一。本节课主要任务要完成学生的自我评价,对本单元的语法、词汇等作总结。学生要了解本单元主导的学习方法,自觉进行知识概况和总结。对话题“camps”的活动、文化背景等有一定的了解。

Have the students sit in groups of four.
Write down the words they can think of to describe a person.
See which group can get the most words.
Make sentences with the words.

Part 1 Listening and Speaking
Aims: 该课是听说课。通过听说逐渐了解Camps的各方面知识,从而达到熟悉新单词、习惯搭配;感知此课的重点语法:完成时和过去时的用法;达到进一步提高综合语言能力的目的。
Important points: Present Perfect Tense and Past Tense.
Difficulties: 完成时中延续动词的使用
Step 1. Warm-up
The teacher asks about the students’ holiday plans.
Greetings.
The teacher talks about the coming winter holidays.
The teacher asks what the students are going to do during the holiday.
Tell them something about camps.

Background knowledge:
Camps have been going for hundreds of years in the US and are a real North American tradition. Each year millions of children aged 6 to 16 from all over the US (and beyond!) look forward to spending anywhere between 1 to 9 weeks at summer camp. It's their time to break loose - to enjoy themselves, have fun, make friends, try cool new things and get looked after by a lot of people with funny accents!! Life at camp is intense - it's hard work, and in a very short space of time camp becomes your world... and each world is different, because each camp is different.
Private camps are the flagships of the great American summer camp tradition. Many have been around a long, long time and these camps are generally family owned and cater to children from high-income families - in short this is where the money is!! Because mum & dad are paying a lot to send their little darlings to camp, there's a lot for said darlings to enjoy - from the conventional activities like watersports, tennis, drama and baseball to the more unusual like skateboarding, climbing and even circus!

Reading and Writing
Aims:通过阅读,对主题“camps” ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )得到更深的了解,同时通过阅读文章,学习一些新单词,巩固一些习惯用语,强化一些常用结构和时态表达,从而达到词、惯用表达和时态在写作中的正确运用。
Important points:

B. Learn to describe ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) something happened in the past and learn to make simple comments.
C. The correct use of the present perfect tense, especially those sentences with for, since and how long.
Difficulties: 时态在写作中的正确运用。
教学建议:阅读文章中有许多新单词,教师不要先把单词教完了才让学生读文章,最好能够让学生在阅读的语境中寻找单词的意义,这样的理解将会更加牢固。

Type of teaching: Revision aond practice
Way of teaching: Formal and interactive practice
Aims: 通过过去和完成时态的总结和训练,达到提高语法意识,在实际运用中有意识地正确使用时态和词汇。
Important points:完成时、过去时的运用。
Difficulties: 与for, since, how long连用时,完成时短暂、延续动词的正确转换。
教学建议:尽量用合适的语境进行时态的强化理解和操练,使时态运用得到内化。其中,要注意过去时助动词的使用,避免与be动词发生混淆。
