make sb. do sth.和make + sb.+adj.的用法  
◎用法总结:make sb.do sth.意思为“使某人做某事”;make + sb.+adj.意思为“使某人怎么样”。

would rather do sth. than do sth. 的用法  
◎用法总结:would rather do sth. than do sth. 意为“宁愿……而不愿……”。I’d rather= I would rather意为“我更愿意,我宁愿”。would rather 表示主观上的选择,后接动词原形,没有人称和数的变化,否定形式是 would rather not do sth.。

The movie was so sad that it made Tina and Amy cry. 这部电影如此悲伤以至于蒂娜和埃米哭泣不已。  
  ◎用法总结:so...that...意为“如此……以至于……”,用于引导结果状语从句。so在此处用作副词,其后接形容词或副词,that后接从句。
例如:He is so young that he can’t look after himself. 他很小,不能照顾自己。
【拓展】so...that...结构中主从句的主语一致时,可转化为形容词/副词+enough to do sth.和too+形容词/副词+to do sth.结构;当主从句的主语不一致时,可在动词不定式前添加for sb.作为不定式的逻辑主语。
例如:The man is so strong that he can lift the heavy box.= The man is strong enough to lift the heavy box. 这个人很强壮以至于能搬动这个重盒子。
The girl is so young that she can’t dress herself.= The girl is too young to dress herself. 这个女孩太小了,不能自己穿衣服。
The bag is so heavy that she can’t move it.=The bag is too heavy for her to move. 这个袋子太重了,她搬不动。
