LIVING WASTE-FREE To protect the Earth, we should try to reduce the waste in our daily life. However, it’s easier said than done. Many people want to do something but they don’t know what they can do. Maybe they can get some help from Tammy Logan, who lives with her husband Shannon and two children on a farm in South Gippsland, Australia. Mrs. Logan started to live a waste-free(无浪费) life earlier after she took part in the Plastic Free July—an activity to refuse all single-use plastic products for one month. The activity made the lady realise single-use plastic is everywhere and it can do great harm to the environment. So she didn’t stop reducing her family’s waste after one month later. According to Mrs. Logan, reducing waste needed some planning, but it was worth(值得) doing because it helped them become healthy as well as save a lot of money. She said, “My weekly shop used to cost around $450, but now it’s no more than $250.” Mrs. Logan also started her tips for her waste-free lifestyle. The following list includes some of her advice on how to reduce the waste: *Use bamboo toothbrushes. *Take a reusable water bottle with you. *Use toilet paper wrapped in paper. *Use reusable containers(容器) to hold food.

Jane doesn’t want to add to the earth’s pollution, so she rides shared bikes to work now. It costs her less than one yuan each time. I have decided to ride to school every day like Jane. How to Live a Low-carbon Life
My fellow students,
Our environment is becoming worse and worse. As students, what can we do to protect the environment?
First, to reduce white pollution, we should use fewer plastic bags when shopping. Use cloth bags instead of plastic bags. Second, it is a good idea to try our best to reuse old textbooks so that people needn’t cut down more trees to make paper. Third, in order to save energy, we can use the lift less and take the stairs instead. Fourth, we had better save water and electricity. Besides, why not plant more trees The more trees we plant, the more beautiful our city will be.
In fact, even the simplest everyday activities can make a difference to the environment. I believe that by working together we can make the world a better place to live in.
