Social media’s quick development has recently given rise to a buzzword(热词)culture, which can be seen in everyday communication. Internet buzzwords, different from formal(正式的)language, are a newly-born form of cultural expression that has become popular among young people.
The fact that people prefer to search for similar groups best explains the popularity of buzzwords. In similar groups, people use the same way to express themselves, which makes them feel they belong here. Buzzwords are just this kind of way for people to find such groups.
However, some argue that the buzzwords lead people’s poor language use. It’s not true, for Internet buzzwords should never be regarded as a simple symbol, and in fact, what they are doing is making our common life more colorful. For example, “yyds” expresses that one person admires somebody. Such a special and interesting use of language has led to the rise of the buzzword culture nowadays.
Sometimes young people are short of expressing themselves through the common language. But the problem can be solved by encouraging them to read books. The popularity of buzzwords is not to blame(责备). It’s not supposed to be wrong. Only by supporting(支持)new cultural forms with an open mind can we move ahead step by step and make progress in the coming times. Of course, new problems would always show up, but what we should do is to think of solutions instead of just refusing the buzzwords.
69.Which of the following about “buzzwords” is TRUE according to the passage
A.They are a kind of formal language. B.They are often used by young people.
C.They are only used on the Internet. D.They have different meanings.
70.Why are Internet buzzwords so popular
A.Because people prefer to search for new words to use.
B.Because they are a great way for people to find similar groups.
C.Because using buzzwords helps people improve language ability.
D.Because they can be easily remembered by most young people.
71.What’s the advantage of Internet buzzwords
A.They make people’s everyday life colorful.
B.They help people learn more words.
C.They make people understand others easily.
D.They encourage people to create new words.
72.What’s the writer’s attitude(态度)towards Internet buzzwords
A.Supportive. B.Doubtful. C.Worried. D.Unclear.
