This lesson design’s goals are made according to the English subject core competencies using activity-based approach. The topic of this lesson belongs to “Man and Self”, and the topic clusters is “Life and learning”. Guiding by “PPP” theory and activity-based approach, Ss can learn some useful phrases about the movie theater, and master the grammar rules of the superlatives under real situation. During the learning of the superlatives, Ss can also form their own evaluation principals and systems.

Rules:
1.words ended in -y: -y -i+-est
2.>=3 syllables: the most+adj./adv.
Meaning: The superlatives are words that describes three or more than three things, which often has the most quality of those things. In this way, the thing must be special.

(1) Basic Information:
1.This course is for Grade 8 students in a junior high school
2.There are 40 students in the class. Students’ English scores are above the grade average and they work hard in English learning. There is no significant difference in the English level of the class students.
