教材分析：
本单元紧扣“女性”这一中心话题，通过介绍几位生活在不同国度的杰出女性，探讨女性在社会中的地位、价值和贡献，关注她们所面临的困难，讴歌她们在社会各个领域的成就。本节课则要求学生通过学习来描写一位他们最钦佩的女性，无论从知识运用，还是从感情升华上，都是一堂综合性很强的课。
学情分析：
本课作为单元的最后一个课时，学生已经基本掌握本单元的词汇和知识点，同时从过往所学内容考虑，学生对定语从句和强调句也有了足够的认识和掌握，所以可以在课程中加以引导，让学生充分运用这些词汇和句型来写作。
Teaching Aims：
1. Knowledge and Skills：
1) To make students learn some words and patterns of describing people.
Words: hard-working, determined, kind, helpful, brave, considerate, confident, devoted, modest, generous, diligent, smart.

Step 1 Greeting and lead-in
1. Play a song whose name is Let it go for students and ask them to guess the singer of it.
2. Introduce Yao Beina to students.
3. Show students the study object.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Ask students to read a sample passage of Yao while thinking of the question:
What is Yao like?
2. Ask students to look at some pictures of great women and try to use some adjectives to describe their characters.
(hard-working, determined, kind, helpful, brave, considerate, confident, devoted, modest, generous, diligent, smart.)
3. Underline several sentences in the passage and ask students to sum up the patterns of them and then have a practice.
4. Show the sample passage again and let students know the structure of it.
(opening, body, conclusion.)
Step 3 Practice
Ask students to write a short passage to describe the women they admire most within 10 minutes.
Step 4 Evaluation
1. Ask students to exchange their passages and evaluate each other’s according to the check list within three minutes.
2. After their evaluation, pick up one or two of their works to show in class.
