一、概述
本课是冀教版九年级第八单元的第二课。本单元的话题是文化差异。主要学习中国和其他国家在文化生活、风俗习惯等方面的差异。Lesson 44 Popular Sayings主要在了解英语谚语的基础上掌握谚语的语言特点。要求学生在网上搜集流行谚语。语法知识结构不多,学生容易掌握,这为我们本堂课降低了难度。
在教学中,注意发挥学生的主体作用,把空间留给学生。课堂上,我设计了不同的阅读策略,启发学生动脑思考,鼓励学生大胆开口,尽可能运用英语表达实际意义。 精讲巧练,由浅入深,展开以教师为主导,学生为主体的师生双边活动。
在教学中充分发挥交互式电子白板的幕布、探照灯、标注等功能,增加了教学内容的趣味性,极大地调动了学生的学习积极性,预期本课收到很好的效果。
二、教学目标

(1) To know the characters about sayings.
(2) To learn some sayings.
2. Ability(能力目标):To learn about how to use sayings to make your words vividly.
3.Emotion情感态度与价值观:To realize the encouragement and energy from the sayings.

四、教学重点:指导学生进行快读,跳读,细读等不同的阅读策略,从而获取文章的信息。
五、教学难点:如何通过阅读总结谚语的定义。

Step2: Reading Read the text three times and each time to finish one tasks.Task 1 : Finish “Let’s Do It” Ex1 爱屋及乌Love me, love my dog.眼见为实Seeing is believing.十年河东,十年河西Every dog has his day.行动重于言辞Actions speak louder than words.千里之行,始于足下A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.众人拾材火焰高Many hands make light work.不要小事聪明,大事糊涂Don’t be penny wise and pound foolish.有志者事竟成Where there is a will, there is a way.Task 2 : Finish “Let’s Do It” Ex2Answers: Well begun is half done.Many hands make light work.Actions speak louder than words.Where there is a will, there is a way.Task 3 : Find more words to describe “sayings”. e.g. simple and easy to remember ; full of deep meanings; different walks of life; ...... Get to know more about the content and key information about the sayings.Students can understand better through reading and doing the exercises.
Step3:Sayings Show1. A cat has nine lives.2. A barking dog never bites.3. Great minds think alike.4. Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.5. Once bitten, twice shy.6. Time and tide wait for no man. Through the sayings show, the Ss can understand the sayings better.
Step 4 : the definition of the saying.They are short sentences that describe something people believe to be true about life.Step 5: Team work. Task 1 : Write as many sayings as possible in groups according to your memory.Task 2 : Choose your favourite ones to make sentences (at least 3)Task 3 : Choose the best ones in groups and read them in class. Step 6: Exercise. Summarizethe definition of the sayings.Through using the sayings in sentences, the Ss can make understand the sayings better.Practice using the sayings in sentences.
