Host: As we know, the British have been sending cards since the 19th century. They spend about 1,700,000,000 pounds on cards every year. 5题However, the number of people sending cards and letters is falling. More than 30 percent of UK children have never sent or received a handwritten letter. 1题Should the tradition of sending cards and letters be stopped
Group A:
3题We live in a fast developing world and using snail mail is unnecessary. 4题Making paper uses lots of energy and some cards are hard to recycle. It's bad for environment. 4题What's more, cards are expensive to buy and so is posting. Nowadays, we usually use our phones and computers because they are quick, easy and free. Traditional cards and letters are out of date. They are not young people's cup of tea. It's no surprise that most of them end up as litter.
Group B:
2题The tradition has been around for hundreds of years and should stay. Sending a handwritten letter or carefully chosen card shows that you care. Phone messages and emails are quick and easy, but they seem to carry less feeling. Sending letters is good for children because it is a chance to practice writing skills. Also, it's fun! Receiving post makes you feel special and it's important if someone lives far away or is lonely — just imagine a birthday without cards!

[中华优秀传统文化·扎染] 1题;2题With a history of more than 1,000 years, tie dye(扎染) is a very old way of dyeing clothes in China, most popular in Yunnan. During the Tang and Song dynasties, people gave tie dyed clothes to the emperors as gifts. In 2006, the tie dye technique was added to China's national intangible cultural heritage(非物质文化遗产) list. Anning in Yunnan is known for tie dye.
Yang Cheng, 52, is the inheritor(传承人) of tie dye in Anning. He learned the skills from his mother in the 1980s. And he has passed it down to his daughter.
“Tie dye is worthy of the efforts of generations(代) of people,” Yang said. Yang has mastered all the old skills of tie dye. To tie dye, you first need to use threads(线) to tie your cloth together. Then you put the cloth into the dye. As the cloth is folded and dyed, some parts become dark blue, while other parts have a brighter color. When you unfold the cloth, you'll see beautiful patterns.
4题At the same time, Yang has studied tie dye in other countries, such as Japan, India and France. He also tries to make some creative designs. 4题Now, Yang teaches tie dye in schools, communities and companies. More than 100,000 people have learned from him.
