Are you joking 是口语中常用的表达方式,表示说话人对对方所说的话感到惊讶或者不相信。
joke作动词时常用结构为:joke with sb. 和某人开玩笑
joke about sth. 拿某事物开玩笑
joke作名词时的常用短语有:tell a joke 讲个笑话
play a joke on sb. 戏弄某人,对某人搞恶作剧
make jokes about 取笑……,相当于laugh at

[探究] joke的用法和常见搭配如下:

2. … although this year it snowed quite a lot.
虽然今年下了很多雪。
although = thought conj. 虽然; 尽管。引导的让步状语从句,既可放在主句之前,也可放在主句之后。不能与but, however连用, 但可与 yet, still连用。
Though/Although my car is very old, I don't want to buy a new one.虽然我的汽车很旧,但我不想买一辆新的。
尽管他很忙,但是还常常帮我学英语。
He often helps me with my English although/though he is quite busy. = He is quite busy, but he often helps me with my English although.
[拓展] 当although引导的句子中主语和谓语是“it is”, 或主语和主句主语一致,谓语是be动词时,可以省略主语和be 动词。
Although hard, we still want to finish it in time.
虽然很困难,我们仍然想及时完成任务。
3. I like sunny weather, and I like snow as well.
as well 是固定搭配,表示“也”。通常用于肯定句句末,紧接前一句,不需要逗号。注意:too,also,either都表示“也”。too通常用于肯定句和疑问句句末,可用逗号和前面的句子隔开。also通常用于肯定句句中,be动词之后,实义动词之前。either通常用于否定句句末。

She is young and beautiful, and also rich. 她年轻漂亮,而且有钱.
I don't know, either. 我也不知道。
He studies hard and I study hard, too.
4. Me neither. 我也不。
Me neither在文中表示“我也不喜欢”,表示前面说的否定情况也适用于自己。肯定句:Me too意为“我也一样,我也如此”。neither作副词,意为“也不”,在一个否定性陈述之后,可用neither表示这一否定性陈述也同样适用于另一人或物。也可用在句子开头或用在简略答语中表示“也不”,其结构为: “Neither + 助动词 / 情态动词 / be动词 + 主语”。
—She can't speak Japanese. —Neither can I.
她不会说日语。我也不会。
He didn't see Lucy, and neither did I. 他没看见露西,我也没看见。
— I have never been to a water park. 我从没去过水上公园。
— Me neither. 我也是。
neither adv. (某人或某事物)也不 pron. 两者都不。neither作副词常置于句首,句子用倒装结构;作代词用于两者,表示“都不”或“两者中没有一个”,作主语时,谓语动词用单数。
neither ... nor ...表示“既不……也不……”,连接两个主语时,谓语动词与离它最近的主语保持一致。(就近原则)
Neither of us is right.我们两个没有一个是正确的。
I have two T-shirts but neither fits me properly.
我有两件T恤衫,但是都不适合我。
Neither she nor I am a doctor. 她和我都不是医生。
Neither he nor I am well educated.

5. I wish I were in Australia now.
wish可用作动词,意为“愿意;希望”,和hope同义,常用结构区别为:wish+sb.+to+动词原形,表示“希望某人……”;wish可跟for+名词,但表示难实现的“愿望”;wish+that从句,表示“愿望”,且从句动词用虚拟语气;wish可跟双宾语。hope后不能直接跟名词作宾语,可跟for+名词,表示可实现的“希望”;hope+that从句表示希望。 
I wish you to go to her party. 我希望你去她的聚会。
I wish you happy. 祝你快乐。
I wish you would go with me. 我希望你能和我一起去那里。
I hope you'll be well soon. 我希望你很快好起来。
[辨析] wish与hope
wish wish sb. sth. 意为“希望某人……”,表示祝愿。
wish to do sth. 意为“希望做某事”。
wish sb. to do sth. 意为“希望某人做某事”。
“wish+(that)从句”意为“希望……”,常表示不可能实现或实现的可能性较小的愿望。
hope hope to do sth. 意为“希望做某事”。但不可以用hope sb. to do sth.。
“hope+(that)从句”意为“希望……”,常表示可以实现的愿望。
hope和wish都可作名词,但hope意为“希望”,wish意为“愿望;心愿;祝愿”。(共5张PPT)
