故选A项。

because of后不能接句子;when和while引导时间状语从句。
In a word总而言之;As a result结果;What’s more而且。
40.D where引导地点状语从句;that和how一般表方式。 UNIT 3 FASCINATING PARKS

Fifty years ago I had a young family of three boys. My husband Johnny and I left them with a friend while we made a rare trip to the cinema in Liverpool.
It was dark and pouring with rain but with the headlights shining on the road,we saw something ahead of us. Johnny pulled to a stop and I jumped out,ran to the grass edge and grabbed a small, wet, and frightened creature. I wrapped it safely in my woollen hat and insisted that my husband turn back and head for home. We thought it was a baby rabbit because it had long ears and was grayish-brown in colour. Once home,we filled a box with torn-up newspaper and a warm towel. We named our new animal Bobsy as we had no idea of its sex.
Sadly though,on the third day with us,it caught its back foot in a door and we quickly realised it was broken. We rushed to the vet(兽医),who said,“It’s only a rabbit. I’ll put it to sleep.” Our response was a very determined “No way!” We found another vet and told that she was a baby hare. We were told we should continue to keep her in her box for a week and her foot would heal.
After her recovery,Bobsy learnt to use the kitty litter tray. She would comb her long ears with her front paws. The local paper heard about this and came to our house to take her photo and write a story about her. We had her for seven wonderful years before we moved to New Zealand and we will never forget her.

(2023山东济宁市高二测试)The Disneyland parks are full of amusements, but they are also small cities that deal with deliveries, rubbish, and groups of visitors. People need to move from one place to another; they have to refuel and relax. To meet these requirements, the parks are well-equipped in reality. For example,Disneyland Park in California has a reliable transport system. In Walt Disney World in Florida, dustbins are spaced 30 feet apart, and all of them are emptied through underground tubes.
None of this happened by accident. Walt Disney first had his idea for a play land in 1937.He first imagined the park’s buildings in a small size. He spent years collecting ideas by visiting other places. He studied Beverly Park in Los Angeles, including rebuilt historic villages. He visited Colonial Williamsburg, where employees dressed up and walked around. Then he organized a team of engineers and designers to plan and build a small world he called Disneyland. Walt Disney had blueprints(蓝图) drawn up,and tried to get the permission to break ground(破土动工).
In 1953,he bought some land in Anaheim. Some designers thought it was too far,but Disney went ahead. It was like building a new city. Pipes had to be fixed. Railway track had to be laid around. Disney chose the hub-and-spoke(轴辐式的) street pattern that many cities have. “I want Disneyland to be a place where you can’t get lost,” he said. Designers and architects also diagrammed(图解) the rides and made models, while artists painted the background.
Finally in July 1955,the visitors came. If they picked up maps, they could see the results of years’ planning: the shops and restaurants, the square, and the streets. The magic city had finally jumped off the drawing board and come into real life.

A.Confident but selfish. B.Stubborn but kind-hearted.
C.Considerate and determined. D.Careful and hard-working.
11.What’s the main idea of the text
A.It is worthwhile to build large parks.
B.Disneyland has been built like a brand-new city.
C.How a theme park was built in a big city of the USA.
D.Disneyland—a famous park around the world.

(2022年新高考全国Ⅱ卷)As we age, even if we’re healthy, the heart just isn’t as efficient in processing oxygen as it used to be. In most people the first signs show up in their 50s or early 60s. And among people who don’t exercise, the changes can start even sooner.
“Think of a rubber band. In the beginning,it is flexible, but put it in a drawer for 20 years and it will become dry and easily broken,” says Dr Ben Levine,a heart specialist at the University of Texas. That’s what happens to the heart. Fortunately for those in midlife,Levine is finding that even if you haven’t been an enthusiastic exerciser, getting in shape now may help improve your aging heart.
Levine and his research team selected volunteers aged between 45 and 64 who did not exercise much but were otherwise healthy. Participants were randomly divided into two groups. The first group participated in a program of nonaerobic(无氧的) exercise—balance training and weight training—three times a week. The second group did high-intensity aerobic exercise under the guidance of a trainer for four or more days a week. After two years, the second group saw remarkable improvements in heart health.
“We took these 50-year-old hearts and turned the clock back to 30-or 35-year-old hearts,” says Levine. “And the reason they got so much stronger and fitter was that their hearts could now fill a lot better and pump(泵送) a lot more blood during exercise.” But the hearts of those who participated in less intense exercise didn’t change,he says.
“The sweet spot in life to start exercising,if you haven’t already,is in late middle age when the heart still has flexibility,” Levine says. “We put healthy 70-year-olds through a yearlong exercise training program, and nothing happened to them at all.”
Dr Nieca Goldberg,a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association, says Levine’s findings are a great start. But the study was small and needed to be repeated with far larger groups of people to determine exactly which aspects of an exercise routine make the biggest difference.
12.What does Levine want to explain by mentioning the rubber band
A.The right way of exercising. B.The causes of a heart attack.
C.The difficulty of keeping fit. D.The aging process of the heart.
13.In which aspect were the two groups different in terms of research design
A.Diet plan. B.Professional background.
C.Exercise type. D.Previous physical condition.
14.What does Levine’s research find
A.Middle-aged hearts get younger with aerobic exercise.
B.High-intensity exercise is more suitable for the young.
C.It is never too late for people to start taking exercise.
D.The more exercise we do,the stronger our hearts get.
15.What does Dr Nieca Goldberg suggest
A.Making use of the findings. B.Interviewing the study participants.
C.Conducting further research. D.Clarifying the purpose of the study.

It was a hot day in the middle of July. I decided to walk to the neighbourhood store where it sold my favourite thing, ice cream. I pulled a friend towards the ice cream store, almost passing out from the burning sun on the way.
As we walked on,my friend kept saying that it was too hot. She thought that she was stupid to decide to come with me to buy ice cream. I felt sorry and tried to encourage her. “We’re almost there. Just think of the cool and sweet taste of ice cream in your mouth. It’ll be worth the walk,” I told her. But I had to admit that the store was quite a distance from our houses. During the journey,my mouth began to become dry and I wanted to drink.
When we were about a block away from the store,I noticed an old lady who was walking in our direction. She was about 70 years old. She had a big back problem,so she was unable to keep her back straight. She was struggling, pushing a shopping cart full of things like the soap, bread and water. With each step toward her,we began to see her appearance more clearly. It appeared that she was often unhappy and easy to get angry.
I looked at my friend to see if she had noticed her. I could see that she had and that she disliked the old lady due to the lady’s appearance. As we approached the lady pushing the shopping cart,my friend directed me away from the old lady and the cart.
I began to observe other passers-by. They were also trying to avoid her. Suddenly I heard a terrible sound behind me. I quickly turned around to see what it was. I found the lady’s cart had been knocked over by something on the ground.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
Things in the shopping cart like the soap all dropped on the ground.______________________ _______________________________________________________________________________

根据“Group Size”标题下的“We require one chaperone(监护人) per ten children(我们要求每十个孩子有一个监护人).”
根据“Guidelines”标题下的“Children are not allowed unaccompanied in all areas of the Museum(无人陪伴的儿童不得进入博物馆的所有区域).” 与D项“Exploring the place alone.”

也与下文“It is also...”
F项就包括这些物种,例如panther(豹子),crocodile(鳄鱼)等。
故选A项。
23.D 根据本空后的“a violent snowstorm with powerful winds”可知,圣诞节的前几天我们经历(experienced)一场狂风暴雪。
popular“受欢迎的”;enjoyable“令人愉快的”;important“重要的”。
25.B 根据本空后的“to stay overnight because of the storm”可知,由于暴风雪,“我”哥哥被迫在一个陌生人家里过夜。

35.D 根据本空后的“...or not under the tree the next morning. We each got our gift—the gift of life, home with our family safe and sound.”
be known as表示“作为……

分析句子可知,“The official Weibo account of the Palace Museum”为先行词,在后面的非限制性定语从句中作主语,所以关系代词为which。故填which。
between...and...“在……和…… 故填 and。

One possible version:
Things in the shopping cart like the soap all dropped on the ground. I watched in shock as the lady bent down slowly and tried hard to collect her things. I turned to my friend and asked,“Shall we go and help her?”“It is not we who knocked her shopping cart over,” my friend said impatiently, walking ahead. I stood there for a moment, suddenly feeling sorry for this pitiful lady. “I’ll help her,” I said with determination.
Then my friend continued walking on while I went to the lady.__________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________
One possible version:
Then my friend continued walking on while I went to the lady.“Let me help you,” I said as I helped her get the cart up. The lady looked up and said tearfully,“Thank you!” Then I helped her put things back into her cart. To my surprise, some passers-by joined me,including my friend. With everything put into her cart,my friend and I helped push it to her house. If it were not for the incident,we would have had delicious ice cream to eat,but we didn’t feel regretful, for what we did was meaningful.
