表示事物顺序的词叫序数词，序数词的构成一般是在基数词的后面加词缀 th, 但是也有在变化的时候出现了一些特殊情况，下面具体介绍一下;

二、序数词的用法：
1. 序数词要加定冠词the。但当序数词前有物主代词(his, her…)、指示代词(this, that…)等修饰时，则不必再用the。如：
on the third floor 在三楼 on his twelfth birthday 在他十二岁生日这天
2. 序数词常用缩写形式，即“阿拉伯数字 + 个位序数词的后两个字母”。如：one → 1st; second→ 2nd; third → 3rd; twelfth → 12th; twenty-sixth → 26th
3. 序数词可表示日期“几月几日”中的“几日”。如: August 17th

4. 序数词可以用来表示顺序、编号等，放在名词的前面

基数词也可以表示编号：Lesson Five; Class Eight; Class Seven
5. 表示分数时，分子用基数词，写在前面；分母用序数词，写在后面。当分子大于1的时候，表示分母的序数词要+s。

6. 序数词前有时也可加不定冠词a / an，这时表示的不再是具体范围内的“第几”，而是表示在原有基础上的“又一个，另一个”。

1）单数名词后直接加’s
如：Jim’s coat 吉姆的外套 Jeff’s mother 杰夫的妈妈
2）以s结尾的复数名词，只加“’”
如：Teachers’ Day 教师节 the twins’ books 双胞胎的书
3）不以s结尾的不规则的名词复数，加“’s”
如：Children’s Day 儿童节 men’s shoes 男式鞋
4)表示两者共同拥有时，只在最后一个名词后加’s

1) of 所有格多用于表示无生命事物的名词的所有关系。

3) ’s所有格和of 所有格有时可以互相转换。
the name of her cat 她的猫的名字
2) of 所有格有时候也用于有生命事物的名词的所有关系。
3. 双重所有格
(1) “of＋名词所有格”中的名词必须表示人，不能表示事物。因此，我们可以说：
a play of Shakespeare’s 沙士比亚的一个戏剧
a friend of my wife’s 我妻子的一个朋友
但不能说a funnel of the ship’s或 a leg of a table’s，而且该名词必须是特指的，不能是泛指的。
我们可以说：
a friend of the doctor’s 这位医生的一个朋友
a novel of the writer’s 那位作者的一部小说
而不能说：
a friend of a doctor’s或 a novel of a writer’s。

基变序，有规律，多数词尾加-th。
一二三，特殊记，词尾字母t, d, d。
八去t，九去e，f 来把 ve替，然后再加-th。
遇到整十需注意，变 y为ie，然后再加-th。
若是遇到几十几，只变个位数字就可以；
中间连字符“-”，千万别忘记。

(1) 单数名词后加“’s”（以-s结尾的人名后加“’”或“’s”）。
