murder
1)n. Murder is the deliberate and illegal killing of a person.
She refused to testify, unless the murder charge against her was dropped.

2)v. To murder someone means to commit the crime of killing them deliberately.

instruct

acquire
1)gain (sth) by one's own ability, efforts or behaviour

2)obtain (sth); be given (sth)
取得(某事物); 收到(某事物):
My sister couldn't take her desk with her to the new house: that's how I came to acquire it.

acquire a habit of doing sth.养成……的习惯

Tom acquired a habit of smoking.
acquire confidence获得信心

句首省略了分词being或feeling,在句中作状语(与分词结构做状语的情况类似)

Enjoy, Entertain and Amuse
enjoy vt. 欣赏,喜爱,享受……之乐(后跟名词、动名词或反身代词,用于主动语态)
I enjoy swimming in summer.
We’re really enjoying ourselves.
entertain vt. 款待,招待,请客;使……快乐,给
……娱乐(=amuse)
周末我们经常招待朋友。
We often entertain friends at weekends.
Uncle Sam entertains/amuses the children for hours at a time.
