Unit 10 On the beach
一、教学背景
Join in 教材Book III中Unit 10 第五部分内容是几个来自英语国家的孩子介绍自己喜欢的海滩，教学内容繁杂，其中涉及到的地名，尤其是海滩对于教师和学生来说都很陌生，如果按传统方式教学，教学时间显得非常局促，课堂容量也难以拓展，所以，笔者从教学实际出发，进行了一次基于网络平台的课堂教学。
二、教学过程设计
教学用具：多媒体网络课件等。
教学目标：
知识目标：
1．认识世界上一些国家：the USA, Canada, UK, Australia; 海滩：Queen Charlotte Island, Daytona, Northern Ireland.
2．巩固使用下列句子：
I’m (Cindy) from New York.
I live in (Canada).
My favourite beach is on (Daytona, Florida).
I like (swimming in the warm water).
My (brother) thinks (driving on the beach) is (cool).
能力目标：
1．学会在阅读中筛选、利用收集到的信息；
2．利用IE浏览器上网查阅学习资料；
3．学习使用网上词典查阅单词。
情感目标：
1．通过对世界其他国家、海滩等了解，激发学生的英语学习兴趣，树立学生的世界意识和跨文化交流意识；
2．通过网络提供的庞大信息量，使学生认识到信息技术的优越性，激起学生的好奇心，激励学生积极利用现代信息技术学习英语。
教 学 过 程
一、导入
1. Listen to the music.

Ss: It is on the beach.
2. T: Here are some photos of scenery on the beach. Let’s have a look.
T: Are they beautiful
Ss: Yes.
T: Do you want to go to the beach
Ss: Yes.
二、新语言 项 目
1. T: If you have a holiday on the beach, what do you like doing
Ss: I like swimming / snorkeling / surfing / riding a jet-ski….
T: I think collecting shells on the beach is interesting. What about you
Ss: I think _____ on the beach is _________.
2. T: Here is photo taken on the beach. Please look at the man, what is he doing
Ss: He is driving.
T: I think driving on the beach is funny. What do you think about driving on the beach
Ss: I think driving on the beach is ________.
3. T: I often chat with some foreign friends on internet in
order to improve my English ability. This photo was sent by a foreign friend. She told me that I can find more information about it on this website. Now who can tell me how to find it

T: Thank you. Let’s get know it. Please look at sentence 1. Oh, there are two new words. What can we do when we meet new words
Ss: Look it up in the dictionary. / Ask others. / …
T: We can also get help from the internet. It provides us powerful dictionaries on internet. Let’s look it up in the dictionary on internet.
Teacher shows how to look up new words on internet.
T: Can you look up new words in the dictionary on internet Try it.

4. T: Please read the text, and then finish the exercises.

三、练习
1. T: There are three foreign kids. Choose one as your friend and get to know more about them. Please finish the exercises and see how much you know about your friend.

1. T: Do you want to know more about some famous beaches in the world Internet can tell us a lot. How can we get the information that we need
Ss: Baidu, google…
A student shows how to use it.
T: Then you can start your holiday tourist on internet. You can travel alone or with your friends. Please send me a photo about the place you are visiting. And write some sentences about it.
五、总结
T: We are living in a big big world. Different places have different views that attract us to visit. If you want to travel around the world when you grow up, you should learn English very well because English is the necessary passport.
