A Beijing-based expert team has reported the world’s first case of a 19-year-old adolescent with Alzheimer’s disease(疾病) (AD). It is a condition normally related to old people. The team released the research results in Journal(杂志) of Alzheimer’s Disease.

One year later, the patient suffered great short-term memory loss, an inability to remember the previous(之前的) day’s events or where personal things were stored, as well as reading difficulties and slow reactions.
Later the patient continued to suffer gradual memory loss, even struggling to remember having eaten. As a result, the patient had to drop out of(退学) high school. The patient has no family history of AD and no other causes of memory problems such as genetic(基因的) issues or other diseases.

Shopping for second-hand goods is also important. Instead of buying new clothes and putting new waste into the waste cycle, we should buy things that are second-hand or can be totally recycled.

Second-hand clothes are usually less expensive than new ones. Next, we can eat better to stay healthy. We should buy fresh fruits and vegetables to reduce the waste of resources when processing food.
Although government policies can make a difference, it needs everyone’s efforts to completely solve the problem. From now on, let’s begin to live a green life.

When it comes to dealing with your host family, respect and kindness are actually the secret to getting along with anyone in the world. It would be a good idea for you to buy a gift for them before your visit. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but something is always better than nothing. During your stay, you can help them with their house chores. Oh, do ask Yang Fan to teach you Chinese and teach Yang Fan some English — it's our belief that we can always learn from someone we are with! This creates opportunities for you to communicate with them as well.

A Beijing-based expert team has reported the world’s first case of a 19-year-old adolescent with Alzheimer’s disease(疾病) (AD). It is a condition normally related to old people. The team released the research results in Journal(杂志) of Alzheimer’s Disease.
The patient(病人) developed memory problems at 17 years old and was then diagnosed with AD at 19. The patient first began to have difficulty focusing on learning.
The patient has no family history of AD and no other causes of memory problems such as genetic(基因) issues or other diseases.
Since the first case of AD was reported in 1906, it has been widely believed that AD mainly occurs in the old. AD is a disease with a slow beginning. It can bring gradual loss of cognition(认知), memory and speech and an increase in mental(心智的) problems over time. It even leads to the inability to take care of oneself in time. It is still difficult to treat the disease.
The study has confirmed that AD is no longer a disease limited to the old. The team call for more attention to the possibility of AD occurring in younger people. Healthy habits may help prevent AD. Consider the following steps: exercise, eat the Mediterranean diet(地中海饮食), get enough sleep, learn new things and connect socially.
8. What is special about the newly-reported case

11. In which part of a newspaper may this text appear
A Entertainment B. Health C. Education D. Technology

Plastic pollution is one of the earth’s greatest challenges that humans have faced and often neglected. Anyone who uses plastic has caused problems in one way or another. In order to solve the environmental problems, more and more people are starting to live a simple and environmental-friendly life called zero-waste lifestyle.
When you choose a zero-waste lifestyle, you pay more attention to how your consumption habits influence the environment. You’re more careful about what you buy and how you use it. So how can you live a zero-waste life Actually when looking at your rubbish, you’ll grasp what it is.
There are two main types of rubbish. The first is food packaging, so we should learn how to shop for things with no big pack or package-free. The second is product packaging, so we should learn how to make our own products in a green way. With our efforts, we will reduce a large amount of rubbish. Shopping for second-hand goods is also important. Instead of buying new clothes and putting new waste into the waste cycle, we should buy things that are second-hand or can be totally recycled.
There are many advantages of living a zero-waste life. Firstly, we can save money by making things ourselves and buying second-hand goods.
12. What is the first paragraph mainly about
A. The challenge of improving the environment. B. The importance of improving the environment.
C. The advantage of living a zero-waste life. D. The reason for living a zero-waste life.

I feel both excited and nervous about this coming new life experience. I am excited because I have always wanted to visit your country and nervous because it is a completely strange land for me. Could you please give me some advice about dealing with my host family
Hope I can visit you and your family while in China!
Love,
Michael
