一、阅读理解
The world is full of beauty in every corner. Here are four world’s top breathtaking and beautiful travelling destinations (目的地) for you to pay a visit to.
Dominica
Dominica is known as “nature island” for a reason. This tiny Caribbean state, focuses on hot springs and long -distance walking in the rainforest rather than playing on the beach. Boiling Lake, in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, can be reached by mountainous paths, a body of water that is well worth a visit.
Lake Bled, Slovenia
Lake Bled is one of the largest freshwater lakes on Earth. At its center lies a small island, surrounded by deep blue water. It’s no surprise that Lake Bled has developed into one of the hottest destinations in Europe in recent years. Suitable for walking and diving (潜水) adventures, this is a corner of Slovenia that needs to be explored.
Samburu, Kenya
As a hard-to-reach place in the heart of Kenya, Samburu provides a quiet and safe environment, which is good enough for some of Africa’s most unique wildlife to live in. The rich grassland of its national nature protection area is home to the endangered giraffe, as well as the pioneering Elephant Watch Camp.
Positano, Italy
Located on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, Positano is one of the most beautiful villages in Europe. Famous for its special small gift shops and waterside restaurants, not to mention the Byzantine Church (教堂), it makes for the perfect summer getaway. For divers, with its colorful plants and fish, it’s a really perfect place. Make sure to see its full form by taking a boat out from the beach for excellent sunset views.

One night, as I was driving down the road, I found something was sitting in the middle of the road. A few seconds later, I realized I was looking at a large turtle (海龟). Afraid of it being crashed by cars, so I pulled over, ran across the road and dragged the turtle to safety. But I’d made one big mistake.
I had heard that the best way to pick up a turtle without hurting it was picking it by the tail in order not to get bitten. So I’d made that big mistake. While the turtle turned out OK generally, I was determined to figure out how to move a turtle properly. I needed to find someone who dealt with turtles. I found the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre. I talked to Dr. Sue, its Executive and Medical Director.
Dr. Sue told me that the organization dealt with a number of aspects of turtle conservation, including rescue, settlement, birth programs, research, and education. Sue explained that southern Ontario is home to a vast majority of turtles in Canada, but is also one of the vastest road networks of the country.
“Ninety percent of injured turtles brought in are caused by cars. These turtles spend a lot of time on land. And they do travel many kilometers on land for a variety of reasons, to find a nesting spot, or to hang out for the summer or winter. Turtles know where they want to go. So, just keep them going in the direction they want to go and you may have saved a turtle’s life,” Dr. Sue said.
Once an injured turtle arrives at the center, there are medical facilities (设备) ready to go, including an X-ray machine. That’s when the team gets to work with healing injuries, and help their patient.
4、Why did the author stop the car
A.To help the turtle. B.To see the thing clearly.
C.To prevent a car accident. D.To find something good.
5、What happened to the turtle
A.It got hurt by people before. B.It was injured a little bit.
C.It was run over by a car. D.It lost its direction.
6、What did Dr. Sue suggest at last
A.Leaving the turtles alone.
B.Making Ontario home to turtles.
C.Changing the road conditions.
D.Helping turtles find nesting spots.
7、What does the underlined word “patient” refer to in the last paragraph
A.The director. B.The driver.
C.The author. D.The turtle.
A new study in the journal of Tourism Analysis shows frequent travelers are happier with their lives than people who don’t travel at all.
Chun-Chu Chen, an assistant professor at Washington State University, conducted a survey to find out why some individuals travel more frequently than others and whether or not travel and tourism experiences have a lasting effect on happiness and wellness.
The results of his analysis show individuals who pay more attention to tourism-related information and frequently discuss their travel plans with friends are more likely to go on regular vacations than those who aren’t constantly thinking about their next trip. Additionally, participants in the survey who reported regularly traveling at least 75 miles away from home also reported being about 7% happier when asked about their overall well-being than those who reported traveling very rarely or not at all.
“While things like work, family life and friends play a bigger role in overall reports of well-being. The accumulation (积累) of travel experiences’ does appear to have a small yet noticeable effect on self-reported life satisfaction,” Chen said.
Participants in the study were asked about the importance of travel in their lives, how much time they spent looking into and planning future vacations, and how many trips they went on over a year. They were also asked about their life satisfaction. Out of the 500 survey participants, a little over half reported going on more than four pleasurable trips a year. Only 7% of respondents did not take any vacations.
As travel restrictions (限制) due to COVID-19 pandemic begin to relax in the future, the research could have important effects on both tourists and the tourism industry. Based on the results of the study, Chen said travel companies, resorts and even airlines, could launch social media campaigns, such as creating signs about the scientific benefits of vacation, to spark people’s interest in discussing their opinions about travel.
8、What is the benefit of frequent travelling according to the study

A. Tourism industry should improve their service.
B. The results of the study will benefit tourism industry.
