A famous place
The Winter Palace in
St Petersburg was a
house for the Tsar of Russia. Now it’s part of the
Hermitage Museum, and everyone can go and see the paintings and learn about Russian history. Opposite the museum, on the other side of the River Neva, is St Peter’s Church. You can walk across the river over Trinity Bridge.
俄罗斯爱尔米塔什博物馆 (Hermitage Museum) 位于圣彼得堡的涅瓦河畔，是世界上最大的博物馆之一，和英国伦敦的不列颠博物馆、法国巴黎的卢浮宫博物馆、美国纽约的大都会艺术博物馆齐名。博物馆的主要建筑冬宫(Winter Palace), 曾是沙皇的宫邸。
冬宫初建于1754年至1762年，是18世纪中叶俄国巴罗克式建筑艺术最伟大的纪念物。
19世纪中叶，当时的俄国有一项特别的法律规定，圣彼得堡市所有的建筑物，除教堂外，都要低于冬宫。
1837年一场大火将其焚毁。
1838年至1839年重建。

2.under / below的用法：
under在……下面/正下方.
