look down at意为“低头看着……；俯视”。

①It seems that...是固定句式，意为“好像，似乎……”，that引导宾语从句。
此结构常可与sb./sth. seems to do结构互换。
②not... but...意为“不是……而是……”。but表示转折；类似表达有：not
only... but also...意为“不但……而且……”，表示递进。
③in person意为“亲自”。

at the age of意为“在……岁时”，相当于when引导的状语从句。
