Language points
1. I didn’t know they could play chess with us.
我不知道他们可以和我们下棋。
play 后面接球类、棋类、牌类等体育运动名称时,前面不加冠词,如:play basketball, play chess, play cards。 play后接乐器时,前面则加定冠词。
e.g. play the violin, play the piano。
