Language points
1. I threw down my bag and went to the living room.
我扔下了书包走向卧室。
throw v. 扔;掷。 throw的过去式、过去分词分别为: threw和thrown。用作及物动词,throw sb. sth.=throw sth. to sb.扔给某人某物。
throw down 扔下;使倒下。
与throw相关的其他短语:throw away 扔掉;丢弃
throw sth. at 向……扔某物(近) throw sth. to 投给……某物(远)
eg. She threw me a towel.=She threw a towel to me.
她扔给我一条毛巾。
He threw down the book and went out.
他扔下书就出去了。

2. The minute I sat down in front of the TV, my mom came over.
我刚一坐到电视前面,我妈就走了过来。
the minute (that)为时间名词,表示“一……就……”, 相当于as soon as,其后的 that 经常省略, minute前可以用 very 等形容词修饰。 the minute引导时间状语从句,主句用一般将来时态时,从句一般用一般现在时,即句子时态遵从“主将从现”。
eg. I’ll tell him the minute he comes. 他一来我就告诉你。
We will leave the minute it stops raining.
=We will leave as soon as it stops raining.雨一停,我们就动身离开。
3. I’m just as tired as you are!我和你一样累!
as ... as意为 “和……一样” ,表同级比较。要注意第一个as为副词,第二个as为连词。基本结构为:as + adj./ adv. + as。
否定形式为 “not as/so + adj./adv. + as”。
eg. This film is as interesting as that one.
这部电影和那部电影一样有趣。
Your pen writes as smoothly as mine.
你的钢笔书写起来和我的一样流畅。
He didn't act as well as you. 他表现得不如你好。
4. For one week, she did not do any housework and neither did I.
neither用作副词,作“也不”解释,放在句首。
表示前面陈述的否定情况也适于另一人(物)时,常用“Neither/ Nor + be/助动词/情态动词+主语.”这种倒装结构。
表示前面陈述的肯定情况也适于另一人(物)时,常用“So + be/助动词/情态动词+主语.”这种倒装结构,表示“另一人(物)也如此。”
eg. He doesn’t like sports, and neither do I.
他不喜欢体育运动,我也不喜欢。
—Jim can play the guitar. —So can I.
吉姆会弹吉他。我也会。
【拓展】 neither也可用作形容词,意为“两者都不”,放在单数名词前。
neither也可用作代词,常与of连用,表示“两者都不”。也可单独用作宾语或主语。
固定搭配 neither…nor…意为“既不……也不……”,此短语常连接两个并列主语,谓语动词遵循“就近原则”。
eg. Neither student is from Canada.
两个学生都不是来自加拿大。
Neither of them is very clever, but both study hard.
他们两个都不是很聪明,但学习都挺刻苦。
Neither my father nor I am interested in the film.
我和我的父亲都对这部电影不感兴趣。
