compare v. 比较
compare...with ...意为“将……和……比较”,强调同类相比,从而发现不同之处。
compare...to ...意为“把……比作……”,强调异类相比,用来说明两个事物之间的相同之处。

2. Mothers send their small kids to all kinds of classes.
send sb.to sp.意为“ 把某人送往某地”,to为介词。
send sb.to do sth.意为“派某人去做某事”。
“send sb.+宾语补足语(形容词等)”使某人处于某种状态
相关短语:send for 派人去请 send away 派遣,送出,把……送往远处 send up 发射(火箭、卫星、飞船等)
send off 寄出,送行
e.g. He sent his son to a good school. 他把儿子送到了一所好学校。

continue to do 是指继续做另外一件事情,不同的事情
continue doing 是继续你手头上正在做的事情,同一件事情
for example:
1)I continue to wash my clothes.我去洗衣服。(说明我之前没有在洗衣服。)
2)I continue washing my clothes.我继续洗衣服。(这件事情,我刚才就在做,接着做的意思。)
4. I could cut out a few of their activities.我可以减少他们的一些活动
cut out 割掉;删去;
cut out是由“动词+副词”构成的, 当宾语是名词时,可以放在cut out 之间, 也可以放在out 之后.
e.g. It allows me to cut out the unnecessary.
它让我剔除了一些不必要的事.
5. People shouldn’t push their kids so hard.
人们不该对自己的孩子逼得太紧。
动词push 有“推;推动”,
例如:Don’t push this door, you have to pull it open.
别推这扇门,你得把它拉开才行。
本单元中,push 表示“ 使(某人)努力;鞭策;督促”,其后宾语可以是别人或自己。
