Today, an increasing number of people are always looking at their mobile phones with their heads down. They are called the “Heads-down Tribe”. Are you a member of heads-down tribe They can be seen everywhere now.
More and more traffic accidents are happening because drivers use mobile phones when they are driving. In order to make drivers pay more attention to driving, some new traffic rules have been made. For example, people who use mobile phones while driving will be fined ¥200.

A man in America kept using his mobile phone on his way home. Suddenly, he bumped(撞上) into a big lost bear. 【跨学科·生物】
阅读短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
When Dr Karen McComb came to Amboseli National Park, her first task was to learn the names of the one hundred or so elephants living there.
Scientists working in the park have learned to study elephants by watching them close. They have a list of almost one thousand elephants. There are records for all of the elephants born since 1972. Amboseli was a good place for Dr McComb to study animal communication. Elephants were a great subject because their lifestyle depends on communication.
Dr McComb and her team had learned a lot about elephant communication, but they kept on thinking about one puzzling(困惑的) question. Some families were better at distinguishing(辨别) calls of friends from those of strangers.
What made these families smarter than others The scientists searched their records for an explanation. To their surprise, there was only one important factor(因素): The smarter families always had an older grandmother. The other elephants, as they did in all activities, waited for some signals(信号) from the grandmother when they heard a strange call. The older, more experienced grandmother was better at telling whether other elephants were strangers or friends just by their calls.
That was an important discovery. It showed how an elephant family depends on the experience of the grandmother.
28.How do scientists working in the park study elephants

When my grandparents were young, they wrote letters to their family and friends. It might take them a few days to wait for letters, but they were excited to get those letters. If they needed to tell someone an important and urgent event, they would choose to send telegrams.
Now my grandparents seldom write letters and never send telegrams. These two ways of communication are out of date, but they can’t forget their feelings and memories about letters and telegrams.
