一.教学目标:
1. 基础知识:
1)能掌握以下单词:
world, answer, different, cake, candle, age, bowl, blow out, if, will, candy, lucky, popular, idea
2) 能掌握以下句型:
① The answer would be different in different countries.
② If he or she blows out all the candles in one go, the wish will come true .
③The number of candles is the person’s age .
④They are a symbol of life and good luck.
2. 能力培养:
1.通过阅读训练来让学生们逐步提高英语阅读能力。
1)通过读前预测(predict)引起学生阅读好奇心与兴趣。
2)通过速读(Fast reading)找出各段中心句,根据中心句把握短文结构。3)通过细读(Careful reading)获取外国人和中国人过生日时的特别的食物以及其意义。
4)(Post reading)通过思维导图(Mind map )复述短文来帮助学生更好地理解课文,并培养学生正确运用语言表达的能力。
2. 通过为饭店写广告写作,进行语言输出训练。
3. 情感目标:了解不同国家的生日饮食习俗,能够从跨文化视角认识食物代表的文化意义,学会珍惜食物,合理饮食,培养科学的生日观,另外培养中国食品文化自信以及学生的感恩情怀。
二.教学重点和难点:
(1)教学重点:通过阅读短文来了解不同国家的生日饮食习俗及其代表的含义,培养学生们的综合阅读能力。
(2)教学难点:正确表达食物代表的的含义

1、在教学中能体现任务型教学(带着问题去自主阅读,能体现学生们的学习能力及实际水平)
2、在教学中情感态度和价值观渗透非常到位,通过阅读教学让学生了不同国家的生日食物的不同,以及它们的含义,另通过视频进行感恩教育及合理饮食和珍惜食物的教育。
3、问题设计巧妙,在情感渗透的基础上,让学生发现不同国家生日食物的不同,以及他它们的含义又是相同的,通过中、西方国家节日及其食物图片的展现,拓展了饮食文化渗透,而且还进行了饮食文化自信教育。
4、学生的自主学习能力较强,表现在对课文的预习基本到位,能自己找出短文中难以理解的句型,师生产生共鸣。
5、通过设计的写作支撑,减轻了学生为自己餐馆写一篇 ad的负担,达到了语言输出功能,锻炼了学生语言功能的运用。
