The albatross (信天翁) is not a kind of bird. It is a collection of bird families. Some of them have short tails, some have black feet and some others have large bodies and wings. There are at least 12 different kinds of albatrosses, and the largest kind has 1.5-metre-long wings.
Like other sea birds, albatrosses drink seawater. They mainly live on squids (鱿鱼) and fish, and they sometimes follow ships to eat discarded food(废弃食物). Besides, they may also dive (俯冲) into water to catch their “seafood”. One kind of albatross can dive as deep as 12.5 metres.
Albatrosses spend most of their lives flying and can reach faraway places. They are also able to stay in the air in windy weather for hours. Some large albatrosses have trouble keeping in the air when there is no wind, and then they would rest on the water.
Most albatrosses live in the Antarctic and the North Pacific, and you can find them in Shandong, Taiwan and other seaside provinces of China. They give birth to babies by laying eggs. The mother albatross lays one egg every two years. The egg is taken care of by the parents in turn.

Zhinong was born in a small town in Yunnan Province. When he was young, he moved to Kunming with his mother. Feeling like a caged(笼中的) bird in the big city, he was bored with the busy and noisy city life and looked forward to nature.
His chance soon came. In 1983, he helped shoot(拍摄) a documentary about birds. That experience led him to learn photography and take photos of flying birds.
In the 1980s, the Internet was not that popular in China and cameras were expensive. He managed to borrow a camera and threw himself into studying how to use it. During that time, the library became his favorite place where he first read some magazines about nature. It opened a door for him to connect with nature.
In 1992, a research program was organized to protect a type of unusual monkeys which only live in China. Usually, the home of these monkeys has half-a-year-long winters. It created great challenges for Zhinong’s work, but he never drew back. “I didn’t see the monkeys in the wild until I went into the mountains the third time,” said Zhinong. He went into the snow mountains six times just to get valuable photographs of the monkeys.
Three years later, his works won international prizes. People around the world began to pay attention to the protection of wild animals in China. And he is the first Chinese winner of the world Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

I like dogs. I had a dog when I was young. Her name was Betty. She was perhaps the dumbest(笨的) dog I ever met, but I loved her. Betty was so dumb that she wouldn’t even chase a ball. When I threw a ball, she would just look up at me with her big brown eyes and wag her tail. I had to chase the ball instead. So, who was the dumb one
Betty was a wonderful dog that never caused any problems. But not all dogs are like Betty. Even good dogs bite, and almost all dogs poop on the sidewalk. In China, having a dog as a family pet is not a relatively new thing, but seeing dogs in the street still makes some people feel uncomfortable. Because of this, many cities have passed laws to make dog owners more responsible when they take their “best friend” out for walks.
In Hangzhou, a new law says dogs can only be taken out for walks in the late evening and early morning. They can’t be taken to parks, markets or shops. Dog owners must always keep their dogs on a leash.
Some dog owners think these rules are too restrictive, and perhaps they are. But until the public becomes more comfortable around dogs, dog owners have the responsibility to make sure their dogs behave well and don’t cause problems for others.
A dog can be your best friend and we can make it be everyone’s friend.

be famous for因……而出名;be famous as作为……
a number of students“许多学生”是复数,be动词用are;the number of them“他们的数量”是单数,be动词用is。
根据“So we must do something to save them.”
keep in touch with sb. 故选A。
Wait a minute等一下;No way绝不;Nothing serious没什么大问题;Bad luck倒霉。根据“I’m getting my coat.”
Ⅱ.11.C 联系下文中“between a dog and a duck”可知,special符合语境。

16.C 联系上文中“They sleep together, eat together, drink together, and go down the street together.”
Ⅲ. A

根据第二段中“Albatrosses spend most of their lives flying”可知,信天翁大部分时间都在天空中飞翔。

所以“A Photographer’s Way of Protecting Nature(一个摄影师保护自然的方式)”是最佳标题。故选A。
Ⅳ.31.Betty 根据“I had a dog when I was young. Her name was Betty.”
32.any problems 根据“Betty was a wonderful dog that never caused any problems.”

Let’s Help Animals
Good morning, everyone. It’s my great honor to speak here. Animals are our good friends. We should treat them well. But now some animals are in danger. People kill too many of them for their meat or fur. People also cut down many trees and take away their home. Animals have fewer places to live. So they are becoming fewer and fewer.
We should take action to help them now. We can set up reserves for them and we must stop killing them. Everyone can do something for them. Let’s help animals and create a harmonious ecological environment.
