Language Points
1. The twins saw three men in police uniforms coming out of the building with guns in their hands. 这对孪生兄弟看见三个身着警服的男人手中持枪,正从大楼里出来。
with guns in their hands是“with+宾语+宾语补足语” 的复合结构,表示一种伴随状况。
e.g. The teacher came into the classroom with a book under her arm. 老师走进教室,胳膊下面夹着书。
2. They ran towards the three men and tried to stop them from leaving. 他们向那三个男人跑过去试图阻止他们离开。
stop sb. from doing sth. 表示“阻止某人做某事”。
相当于:prevent sb. from doing sth.

Tips for creating an interesting story
Catch your readers' attention in the first paragraph.
Make your readers see what your characters are like by their
appearance, actions, speeches and thoughts.
Write meaningful dialogues.
Choose two or more scenes for your story.
Describe what happens, what the characters and where the
turning points are.
Create a conflict to make your story interesting.

Background
Two best friends, Tina and Katie.
They work in a supermarket.
Their boss, Mr Green, is strict and always shouts at them.
Mr Green likes playing tennis very much, but he never won any tennis titles.
Story
Mr Green won his first title in a local competition.
He gave Tina and Katie two big boxes of chocolates each.
Tina and Katie were shocked.
They found out the reason at the end of the day.
Tina and Katie both work in a supermarket. They are best friends and they enjoy working together. Tina and Katie are young and always happy. They like telling jokes and watching programmes about music on TV. However, they do not like their boss, Mr Green, because he is very strict and always shouts at them. Once, Mr Green shouted so loudly at Tina that made her cry. Tina and Katie stop telling jokes when Mr Green is nearby.
Mr Green likes playing tennis very much. He plays tennis three times a week and takes part in many tennis matches, but he never won any tennis titles. One day, Mr Green arrived at work as usual and smiled at Tina and Katie as he gave them two big boxes of chocolates each. The girls were shocked. At the end of the day, they found out the reason why Mr green was so happy. He won his first title in a local competition! Tina and Katie thought that life would be much better working at the supermarket from then on.
