Language Points
1. It says some people are generous. 上面说有些人很大方。
say 动词,意为“说,写着,显示”
e.g. The sign says “No smoking”.
牌子上写着,“禁止吸烟”。
The article doesn't say where he is from.
这篇文章没说他来自哪里。
2. It makes them feel good to share things with others.
与他人分享东西使他们感觉良好。
e.g. Don't make me wait for you so long. 别让我久等。
make sb. do sth. 使某人做某事
e.g. If you feel hot, you can take off your coat.
如果你感觉热,你可以脱下外套。
feel (felt,felt) 连系动词,意为“感觉,摸起来”。
后接形容词作表语。例外:feel well 身体好的
3. Hobo, you've eaten up my breakfast!
霍波,你把我的早餐都吃光了!
eat up 意为“吃光,吃完”。为“动词+副词”结构,人称代词作宾语时应放于eat和up之间。
e.g. You should eat up all your food!

4. She keeps all her things in good order.

order n. 顺序
拓展:v. 命令 order sb. to do sth.
e.g. You had better not show off.
你最好不要炫耀。
She likes showing off her new clothes.
她喜欢炫耀自己的新衣服。
5. ... but he is modest and never shows off.
……但他谦虚,从不炫耀。
show off 炫耀
show off 可以单独使用,后面也可跟宾语。
e.g. He came up with a good idea and helped us solve the
problem.他想出了一个好主意, 帮我们解决这个问题。
6. He often comes up with new ideas.
他经常想出新主意。
come up with 想出(主意)
e.g. Children are always curious about new things.
孩子们总是对新的东西感到好奇。
7. Billy is curious about everything.
be curious about 对……好奇
e.g. Neither his parents nor he knows it.
他父母和他都不知道这件事。
Neither he nor I am good at maths.
他和我都不擅长数学。
8. Neither my parents nor I think I can make a good accountant.
我父母和我都认为我不能成为一名好会计。
neither... nor.... 既不……也不……
在连接两个主语时,谓语动词要遵循就近原则。
e.g. Neither of them is a doctor. 他们俩都不是医生。

拓展:neither 的其他用法
代词,意为“两者都不”,neither of…“……中两者都不” 。
e.g. Neither answer is right. 这两个答案都不对。
形容词,意为“两者都不” ,常放在可数名词单数前面。
