Reading plays an important role in my English learning.
Firstly, I find that my spoken English has greatly improved through reading. I used to be afraid of speaking English, but now, it gives me confidence when I talk in English. Secondly, reading helps make writing easier for me. When I do English reading, it reminds me of the correct spelling of the words. So I make fewer and fewer mistakes in my English writing. The time I've spent in reading

As for me, reading is without doubt an important way to get knowledge. There are a plenty of （许多）books for me to choose from, like history books and science books. By reading history books, I can learn the great events in history, which helps me enrich my knowledge and get more wisdom. By reading science books, I can keep up with(跟上最新科技发展的步伐） the latest technological development, which makes me know how science creates wonders (奇迹）.
In a word, reading enables me to experience the colorful world and broaden my horizon. It is worth spending my time reading books.

The person I want to thank most/I will never forget
Look back at the past three years, the person that I will never forget is Mrs. Wang, my English teacher .
I still remember when I began to learn English，I found it too difficult . No matter how hard I tried，I still couldn't do well in it and almost gave it up. Until one day, Mrs. Wang encouraged me and told me about how to learn English well. She also believed that I could speak well if I put in more effort. I was touched by what she said and began to practice speaking English. What’s more, she is always patient with me when I ask her questions. Because of her, I became more confident and my English has greatly improved .
Mrs.Wang gives me confidence and lights the hope in my heart. I will be thankful to her forever.
Less Pressure, Better Life
Pressure is a serious problem in today's world. Students in our class are under too much pressure. Some students can't get on well with their classmates, while others may worry about their exams.
I'm always under pressure, too. My parents want me to be the top student in my class. So I had to take all kinds of after-school classes on weekends. I felt so tired. Last night, I had a talk with my mother. I told her that I needed time to relax myself and feel free to do what I like. My mother agreed with me at last. At that time, I think communication is the best way to solve the problem.
All in all, pressure is a natual part of our life and there is no way to avoid it. What we can do is to face it bravely and try our best to deal with it.

As a saying goes, “Practice makes perfect”. Nothing can be achieved without enough practice. I’d like to share one of my learning experiences with you.
When I was asked to give a speech in front of my class, I felt so nervous that I almost decided to give up, because I never did that before. Luckily, my teacher encouraged me to keep trying and gave me some useful advice. Then I chose a topic and watched some videos about how to give a speech. I followed the video to improve my pronunciation. What’s more, I spared no effort(不遗余力） to practice it again and again. With the help of them, I finished it without any mistakes ! I did it.
From the valuable experience, I learned that nothing is impossible if you put your heart into it.
How I’ve Changed!（变化，习惯，爱好）
My life has changed a lot in the last few years. I used to be shy, but now I’m not anymore. I dare to speak in front of crowds. I used to hate reading, but now I have fallen in love with it.
The biggest change in my life was becoming interested in reading. Last summer my best friend gave me a book called Harry Potter. It is so amazing that I couldn’t put it down until I finished reading it. It also makes me realize the importance of reading.
After that I started to read other books. It was the most important change because reading enriches my mind and open my eyes to see the world.

There is no doubt that everyone has many different and unforgettable memories in the past three years. But I will never forget the first time I took part in a volunteer activity.
It was an activity held by my school to look after the old people at the nursing home.In order to help those who were lonely and disabled , I tried to tell them lots of interesting stories and funny jokes. I also washed the clothes for them and cleaned the room. What’s more, I even taught them how to use the smart phones and computers. When I saw the smile on their faces, I really got a strong feeling of satisfaction. How proud I was !
The experience makes me know that helping others is helping ourselves. The more I help others, the happier I will be.

Life is full of ups and downs along with(伴着） surprises. For me, I will never forget the surprise that my parents gave me. Last year, I studied in a boarding school. It was my first time to live away from home. I missed my home day and night. One day, it turned out to be my 13th birthday, I expected（预料到） that I might have birthday alone. But unexpectedly, I received a call from my father. He said that he was waiting for me at the school gate. What a big surprise! When I saw two gentle and smiling persons standing in the crowd. There are many things we should value in our life. As for me, I value time most.

To begin with, I make daily plans and stick to them so that I can manage my time wisely. Besides, I try to spend time on important things, such as studying or being with my family and friends. What I lost in my life
The process of growth is always connected with the loss （n.损失）of something or somebody. There's no doubt that（固定句式） losing something or somebody important（动名词做主语） brings great pain to us.
The day when my grandpa passed away（逝世） is still fresh in my mind. I was brought up(抚养，被动) by my grandparents. When I got the news of my grandpa's death, I was so heartbroken that I couldn't help crying （情不自禁做某事）loudly. It took me a long time to accept the fact that he had left us.

The person I walk with is Zhong Nanshan who makes great contributions to the medical field. During COVID-2019, I felt nervous and uneasy.But in that difficult period, Dr.Zhong dared nothing and fought against the disease. His spirit touched me so deeply that I wrote a letter to him to express my thanks. Dr. Zhong encouraged me and brightend my road to the future.So every time I saw him online, I became firm and relaxed. He walked with me and went through the hard time together. In fact, so many great people like Zhong Nanshan have set good examples in our daily life. We are supposed to love them and learn from them.
Mid-Autumn Festival
There are many traditional festivals in China. One of them is the Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on lunar August 15 and is also a symbol of family reunion.(团聚）
People started the tradition of admiring the moon and sharing mooncakes with their families.On that day, people usually gather together with their families and have a big meal. It’s a good way for communication. At night, people eat the mooncakes and enjoy the beautiful moon which is round and bright .They not only carry people’s wishes to familes they love but also stand for family reunion. What’s more, people can also look back on the past and look forward to the future.
In my eyes, it’s a tradition that we have kept for thousands of years. we should inherit(传承) our traditional culture.

As a saying goes “No rules, no square”.In my opinion, rules are regarded as a way to control ourselves. They play an important role in our daily life. There was a busy street outside our school when I was in primary school. One afternoon after school, when the traffic light was still red, a little boy couldn't wait to cross the road. Suddenly, a car was running towards him fast. The driver had no time to stop his car so the boy was knocked down.（被撞倒了） We were shocked at the sight and some warm hearted people helped to send the boy to the nearest hospital at once. The accident reminds me of the importance of obeying rules. Only can we follow the rules, a more harmonious society will be created for everyone to live in.

The most beautiful gift that I have received is a book called Harry Potter.
I've had it since I was ten years old. It's special to me because it’s a gift that my grandmother gave it to me on my fourth birthday. The main character Harry Potter is very brave and confident to fight against the bad guys. What’s more, he loves his friends deeply and he always tries his best to protect them.

环境 Nowadays, our environment is becoming worse and worse because of air pollution and water pollution . It is harmful to not only our health but also our lives. So it’s necessary for us to improve it.
To cut down air pollution, we should take a bus or subway instead of driving. We can also stop factories from giving off waste gas. In order to solve the water pollution, I think people should stop throwing litter into the river. What’s more, the government should close down the factories . Besides,putting the old things to good use is also a useful way, such as recycling the old books, glass bottles and so on. Also we can make the city more beautiful and cleaner by planting more trees and flowers.

The most popular student in school
Without doubt, Jack is the most popular student in my eyes. The reasons are as follows.
First of all, Jack is humorous, he often tells jokes, which can make us laugh from time to time. What’s more, Jack is helpful, and he is always ready to help others no matter who needs help. As he does well in math, he often helps students work out difficult math problems. But what impressed me most was that one day, I saw some students bullying(欺负） a new student at our school, and no one stood up for （维护）the boy until Jack showed up. 辅导班 Today we have a discussion about whether students should take after-school classes. Some people think that after-school classes are good for the children's future, while some people think that after-school classes cause a lot of stress .
In my opinion, I strongly believe that we should keep a balance between our study and life. On the one hand, after-school classes help students learn exam skills so that they can get into a good university. On the other hand, they can improve children's knowledge and enrich their mind. However, too much pressure from classes is not good for a child's development. Parents can cut out some classes so that students have more time to relax. What's more, if students listen to teachers carefully at school, there is no need for them to take after-school classes.

According to Chinese history, sky lanterns were first used by Zhuge Kongming. He sent them out to ask for help when in trouble. But today, sky lanterns are used at festivals and other celebrations. They’re made of bamboo and covered with paper. When the lanterns are lit, they slowly rise into the air like small hot-air balloons. They’re seen as symbols of happiness and good wishes.

There are many kinds of music that are fantastic and wonderful in China. High Mountain and Floating Water is my favorite music. It is one of the most beautiful music that I’ve ever heard.
It shows the friendship between Boya and Ziqi. It reminds us that the best things in our life are free, friends and the beauty of nature. The piece which is played on the Guzheng especially moved me. I’m glad to share it with my best friends to express the value of our friendship. What’s more, this music is strangely beautiful and under the beauty I sense a strong feeling of freedom. When I listen to it, I will feel calm and peaceful. After enjoying the music, I have enough courage to face any difficulties.
All in all, I think the music is so important that I believe I’ll love it forever.
