The barcodes (条形码) has greatly influenced our daily life. With them, we only need to give each product a special number and print (打印) it. Then computers can read it correctly. But barcodes can also cause problems. For example, if the barcode is printed not so clearly, a number “seven” could look like a “one” and a “three” could look like an “eight” to a computer. Of course, a “nine” looks similar to a “six” if you turn it upside down. So we need a better way of printing numbers so that they can be read correctly at high speeds. That’s the problem barcodes solve.
Each number in a barcode is shown by seven blocks of the same size. These are colored either black or white to show the number zero to nine. For example, the number “one” is shown from the left to the right by two white stripes (条), two black stripes, two white stripes, and one black stripe. Even if you turn it upside down, it isn’t similar to any other number.
A barcode includes different parts and each one provides a specific meaning. The first part of a barcode tells you the country where the product was made. For example, 690-692 is the barcode for China. The next part tells you who produced the product. The final part is about the product itself. This is how barcodes work.
35.What problem can it cause when people give each product a special number
A.It’s too simple to print the number on computer.
B.Computers cannot read the number directly.
C.Numbers could look similar if they are printed unclearly.
D.It’s a bad way to print numbers at high speeds.
36.Which of the following barcode shows the number “one”
A. B.
C. D.
37.A barcode may include ________ parts.
A.one B.two C.three D.four
38.What is the passage mainly about

三、阅读单选
The FIFA World Cup is upon us in Qatar and excitement is truly kicking in. It’s the world’s biggest international soccer tournament (比赛) and also the most-watched sporting event in the world. There are 32 teams competing to win. This year’s tournament looks to be particularly (尤其) unique. What makes it different from the ones before
For starters, it’s the first time the tournament has been held in the Middle East after Qatar beat other host competitors—the US, South Korea, Japan and Australia back in 2010. It’s also the first time in history the tournament is happening during the Northern Hemisphere (北半球) winter months, from Nov20 to Dec18.

“When I was 12 years old, I fell off the high place causing a serious break in my left arm. As a result, I live with a condition called CRPS,” he explained to Guinness.

Following his disease, Scali turned to planking to manage his pain tolerance (忍耐力). At last, his CRPS made him work toward setting the record in the hope that he could inspire others experiencing pain to achieve their goals.

38.What is the passage mainly about
A.Products. B.Barcodes. C.Printers. D.Computers.
