You may have found that the people around our planet are not just living in one place. There are some countries where people seem to be living nearly on top of each other because of the overcrowded condition (情况). However, there are other places where it seems that hardly anybody lives.
What influences (影响) people when they choose the certain places to live in There are good and bad things for living in a certain place. The two main reasons that influence people how to choose the place to live in are climate (气候) and natural resources (资源).
Climate is the usual weather conditions in a region (地区). Places that have bad weather are less comfortable to live in. The North and South Poles may be beautiful in their natural way, but the quite cold and windy conditions usually keep people away. When it comes to climate, warm conditions and a normal amount of rainfall (正常的降雨量) are important to keep people living.
Natural resources are things that we get from nature that help us live. Each place has different resources, and catches the eye of different groups of people. If people enjoy the beach, they can make their living by catching and selling many fish and other sea animals. Those who like farming can easily get rich soil near rivers. Some people would like to accept the terrible conditions of deserts (沙漠) because they can easily get the resources like oil, and accept the mountains for trees.
