1. cut意为“切, 割”, 过去式为cut。
Language points
cut up 动副短语，意为“切碎”, 当其后接名词作宾语时, 宾语放在短语中间或后面皆可。
动副短语后接代词作宾语时, 只能放在短语中间。
e.g. Cut up the bananas. = Cut the bananas up.
把香蕉切碎。
e.g. Wash an onion and cut it up.
洗一个洋葱, 并把它切碎。
拓 展：
cut sth. into ... “把某物分割成……”
e.g. He cut the bread into four slices.
他把面包切成四片。
cut down “砍倒”
e.g. Who cut down the tree 谁把这棵树砍倒了？
2. turn on 打开, 接通(电流、煤气、水等)

3. 英语中量的表达方法分为三种类型：
① 表示容器的名词 + of
a cup of tea, three bottles of milk.
② 表示单位的名词 + of
a piece of paper

4. 可数名词有单数和复数两种形式，如：
bananas, tomatoes
不可数名词没有单、复数形式；
可数名词单数前面可用不定冠词a (an)；
不可数名词前不能有a (an)；
可数名词复数可用 a few, many 等修饰；
不可数名词则用 a little, much 等修饰。
询问可数名词的“多少”用how many;
询问不可数名词的“多少”用 how much.
英语中个体名词是可数名词, 它们所表示的
人或物可以用数来计数。
如：banana, apple, blender, watermelon …
物质名词一般是不可数名词, 它们所表示的
事物不能用数来计数。
如：milk, yogurt, honey…

(二)祈使句
祈使句是表示请求、命令、建议、劝告等的句子。说话的对象大多为第二人称you，且常被省略。句末用感叹句或句号，读时用降调。
肯定式：
(1)行为动词原形＋其他成分。eg：Speak loudly.
(2)Be＋表语。eg：Be quiet.
(3)Let＋sb＋动词原形＋其他成分。eg：
Let's play a game.
否定式：
(1)Don't＋动词原形＋其他成分。eg：

how many意为“多少”，主要用于对数量提问，后接可数名词复数。eg：

How much 意为“多少”，主要用于对数量提问，后接不可数名词，还可以用作“多少钱”，常用来提问价格。
—How much water do we need？我们需要多少水？
