On a school trip to New York, our school had us wear name tags (牌) with our school name on it. Since all the attractions we visited were popular with school groups, the tags let the teachers know we should be with our group. If any of us separated from the group, teachers would quickly call us back.
Some students had tried to hide or throw away their name tags to avoid this, so our head teacher—a very strict lady—said that anyone found without the name tag would have to spend the rest of the trip staying with her at all times and then have a month’s worth of lockdown (禁闭) when we got back.
While we were all on a ferry (渡船), we were allowed to go around. While playing with friends, I didn’t realize it was my name tag until it was too far to reach. I started to freak out at once. I had never got into trouble at school before or had even a single punishment, and I would possibly face a month’s worth of them! After thinking for a moment, I finally decided to just tell the head teacher what had happened.
I went to the head teacher and explained very nervously to her. Instead of shouting at me, she took out another name tag and handed it to me. She said, “I have prepared several more name tags in case something unexpected happens.” Then she smiled at me, “Did you think you would get lockdown Don’t worry, and that’s just for the trouble-makers in order to stop them losing it on purpose. I believe you’re a good kid. Don’t be worried about this. But be careful later.” When I heard these words, tears came to my eyes. What a kind teacher she is!
4. Why did the school ask us to wear name tags
A To avoid being separated. B. To visit the attractions freely.
C. To make us popular. D. To attract the classmates’ eyes.
5. What does the underlined phrase “freak out” in Paragraph 3 probably mean
A. Be happy. B. Be anxious.
C. Be silent. D. Be excited.
6. Why didn’t the head teacher punish the writer
A. She knew he was not a trouble-maker.
B. She disliked him very much.
C. She was unfair in fact.
D. She thought he was the best kid.
7. How did the writer feel about the head master
A. Strict but impolite. B. Brave but unfriendly.
C. Strict and patient. D. Brave and honest.
A 5. B 6. A 7. C
由第一段中的“Since all the attractions we visited were popular with school groups, the tags let the teachers know we should be with our group. If any of us separated from the group, teachers would quickly call us back. (由于我们参观的所有景点都受到学校团体的欢迎,这些名牌让老师们知道我们应该和我们的团体在一起。如果我们中的任何人离开了小组,老师会很快叫我们回来)”可知,学校要求我们戴名牌是因为避免我们被分开。故选A项。
由第三段中的“I started to freak out at once. I had never got into trouble at school before or had even a single punishment, and I would possibly face a month’s worth of them! (我一下子就开始freak out。我以前从未在学校遇到过麻烦,甚至没有受到过一次惩罚,我可能会面临一个月的惩罚!)”和第四段中的“I went to the head teacher and explained very nervously to her. (我去找班主任,非常紧张地向她解释)”可知,丢失了名牌会受到处罚,所以我很焦虑担心,紧张地去向班主任解释,由此可知,“Be anxious”意为“变得焦虑的、担心的”能够表达画线短语freak out在句中所要表达的意思。故选B项。
【6题详解】
细节理解题。由第四段中的“Then she smiled at me, “Did you think you would get lockdown Don’t worry, and that’s just for the trouble-makers in order to stop them losing it on purpose. I believe you’re a good kid. Don’t be worried about this. But be careful later.”(然后她对我笑了笑,“你认为你会被限制活动吗?别担心,这只是给捣乱者的,目的是防止他们故意失去名牌。我相信你是个好孩子。别担心这件事。但以后要小心。”)”可知,名牌丢失的惩罚是给故意失去名牌的捣乱者的,班主任知道我是个好孩子,不是故意丢失名牌的,所以没有惩罚我,由此可知,班主任没有惩罚我的原因是班主任知道我并不是捣乱者。故选A项。
由第二段“Some students had tried to hide or throw away their name tags to avoid this, so our head teacher—a very strict lady—said that anyone found without the name tag would have to spend the rest of the trip staying with her at all times and then have a month’s worth of lockdown (禁闭) when we got back. (一些学生试图隐藏或扔掉他们的名牌以避免这种情况,所以我们的班主任——一位非常严厉的女士——说,任何人如果发现没有名牌,就必须在旅行的剩余时间里一直和她呆在一起,然后在我们回去后,进行为期一个月的活动限制)”可知,班主任很严厉;再结合第四段中的“I went to the head teacher and explained very nervously to her. Instead of shouting at me, she took out another name tag and handed it to me. She said, “I have prepared several more name tags in case something unexpected happens.”(我去找班主任,非常紧张地向她解释。她没有对我大喊大叫,而是拿出另一张名牌递给我。她说:“我已经准备好了几张名牌,以防发生意外。”)”和“Then she smiled at me, “Did you think you would get lockdown Don’t worry, and that’s just for the trouble-makers in order to stop them losing it on purpose. I believe you’re a good kid. Don’t be worried about this. But be careful later.”(然后她对我笑了笑,“你认为你会被限制活动吗?别担心,这只是给捣乱者的,目的是防止他们故意失去名牌。我相信你是个好孩子。别担心这件事。但以后要小心。”)”可知,我丢了名牌,班主任并未对我大喊大叫,而是耐心地开导我,说明她很有耐心;可得出她是一个严格且有耐心的人。故选C项。

I was never very neat while my roommate Kate was extremely organized. Each of her objects had its place, but my always hid somewhere. She even labeled (贴标签) everything. I always looked for everything. Overtime, Kate got neater and I got my merriser. She moved to push my dirty clothing over and I would lay my books on her tidy desk. We both got tired of each other.

The room was filled with anger. We could not have stayed together for a single minute but for a phone call. Kate answered it. From her end of the conversation, I could tell right away her grandma was seriously ill. When she hung up. She quickly crawled (爬) under her covers, crying. Obviously. that was something she could not go through alone. All of a sudden, a warm feeling of sympathy (同情) rose up in my heart.
Slowly, I collected the pencils, took back the books, made my bad. Cleaned the suckers and swept the floor even on her side. I got so absorbed into my work that I even didn’t notice Kate had sat up. She was watching. Her tears dried and her expression was such disbelief. Then, she reached out her hands to grasp mine. I looked up into her eyes. She smiled at me. “Thanks.”

根据第三段的“From her end of the conversation, I could tell right away her grandma was seriously ill. When she hung up, she quickly climbed up the bed into her covers, sobbing. Clearly, that was something she should not go through alone. All of a sudden, a warm feeling of sympathy rose up in my heart.(从她的谈话中,我立刻就知道她奶奶病得很重。挂断电话后,她迅速爬上被窝,抽泣着。显然,这是她不应该独自经历的事情。突然,一种温暖的同情之情在我心中升起。)”及第四段的“Slowly, I collected the pencils, took back the books, made my bed, cleaned the socks and swept the floor, even on her side.(慢慢地,我收好了铅笔,拿回了书,整理了我的床,擦了袜子,扫了地板,甚至在她旁边。)”

通读全文,尤其是最后一段的“Kate and I stayed roommates for the rest of the year. We didn’t always agree, but we learned the key to living together: giving in, cleaning up and holding on.(那一年剩下的时间,凯特和我一直是室友。我们并不总是意见一致,但我们学会了生活在一起的关键:让步、打扫卫生和坚持下去。)”可知,作者通过讲述作者和凯特之间从在收拾房间方面差异很大到作者做出让步,学会收拾房间来说明我们要通过让步、打扫卫生和坚持下去来学会做个好室友,因此D选项“Learning to Be Roommates(学习做室友)”是最好的题目,故选D。

One of the biggest complaints I hear from people is that their friends just aren’t there for them. More than that, sometimes friends are downright rude or even mean. You can’t change people, but you can surround yourself with more positive people. Here are some benefits that spending time with positive friends can provide.
With positive friends, you don’t need to beg for help when you need it because chances are that they will be there for you without asking. Positive individuals want others to be happy, and will go out of their way to help you when you’re feeling down. As ’s Guide to Stress states, “Ideal friendships provide support when you’re down, fun when you’re up, wisdom when you’re lost.”
Compare that to toxic friends, who might snipe at (诽谤,中伤) you or even laugh at you behind your back. Negative people celebrate the downfall of others, and as a result you’ll end up feeling worse about yourself or the situation you’re dealing with. Friends who aren’t positive will add to whatever amount of stress you are feeling.
Your positive friends will not only help you recover from negative hits you take in life, but they will also inspire you to be the best you can be. For example, perhaps you always wanted to be a writer. The negative people in your life will probably tell you all the reasons why you won’t succeed. But who needs that Chances are you have already gone over the reasons why you might fail and this is what has prevented you from trying. But with positive people in your life, you’ll feel more comfortable sharing these types of goals because your friends will give you the emotional push you need to go after what you want in life.
You naturally attract the kinds of friends who are most like you. So if you’re a downer, you’ll probably find that negative people come to you. The same is true for being positive. The more you are able to keep a positive attitude, the more like-minded people you’ll attract in return.
12. Who are probably your true friends according to the passage
A. Those who you can change gradually.
B. Those who will stay with you when you’re in need.
C. Those who will not turn to you whenever in trouble.
D. Those who are always polite and never waste anything
13. Why does the writer mention the statement of ’s Guide to Stress
A. To emphasize the importance of friendships.
B To point out everyone may meet with difficulties.
C. To explain to us what ideal friendships are in reality.
D. To compare the differences between success and failure.
14. What does the writer intend to tell us by saying “The same is true for being positive”
A. It is true that everyone is positive in life.
B. If you are positive, you’ll attract positive friends.
C. The negative people don’t like the positive ones.
D. The positive people would like to stay with everyone.
15. Which of the following is conveyed in this passage
A. Positive friends can benefit you a lot.
B. Friendship is love with understanding.
C. Old friends and old wine are the best.
D. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
B 13. C 14. B 15. A

根据最后一段“You naturally attract the kinds of friends who are most like you. So if you’re a downer, you’ll probably find that negative people come to you. The same is true for being positive. 47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
There are many things in senior middle school that I still remember clearly. I studied three years in a country school, which is faraway. However, it has a good environment and strict but kind teachers, so I loved the school and all my teachers very much. One Friday, just as we began to read books in reading class at our desks, our teacher, Mrs. Hill, said that she needed to be out of the classroom for a few minutes. She asked the class to read in silence while she was gone. And she said that those who didn’t read books in silence would have to answer to her when she returned. It was well-known that Mrs. Hill was strict. So we had to be on our best behavior.
But that Friday, Mrs. Hill hadn’t been gone for ten seconds before some students in the classroom started to talk. From one corner of the classroom I heard Josh ask Nick, “Can I trade my candies for your toy ” At the other end of the room I heard Samantha tell Kayla, “Let’s sit together on the bus for the museum field trip tomorrow.” And so it went all around me, until about half of the students talked with each other.
After a while, I, too, forgot about Mrs. Hill’s instructions. I turned back and asked my friend Liza, “Can I borrow your storybook and keep it for a day ” As soon as the words were out of my mouth, Mrs. Hill walked into the classroom. The whole class returned to silence immediately. And we were full of fear.
Mrs. Hill slowly looked around the classroom and said, “If you were talking while I was gone, then please stand up.” The guilt (内疚) suddenly weighed heavily on me. “I shouldn’t have talked while she was not in the classroom. And now I should be honest and admit my mistake bravely. This is what my parents have always told me, “I thought. Then, I summoned up (鼓起) my courage to stand up, worrying about the punishment that waited for me. Then I looked around.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
One possible version:
To my surprise, no one followed me. I lowered my head alone and was filled with fear. After looking around for a while, Mrs. Hill walked towards me. Strangely, she asked in a soft voice, “Why did you dare to stand up ” I said I wanted to be honest and that I realized what I had done was wrong. Unexpectedly, Mrs. Hill was quite amazed by my answer and praised me for that. Then she returned to the front of the classroom and explained why we should be honest.
With Mrs. Hill’s encouragement, another student stood up. Then more students followed until about half of the students stood up. Seeing it, Mrs. Hill praised us for our courage. Then, she asked us to sit down. We continued reading books. After we finished, Mrs. Hill reminded us to remember that everyone should be responsible for his behavior. We all agreed with her. And I was happy that in a way I set a good example to my classmates.

Compare that to toxic friends who might snipe at (诽谤,中伤) you or even laugh at you behind your back.
B. To point out everyone may meet with difficulties.
