用法1
play表示“打”球时，后接表示球类的名词，不与冠词“the”连用。例如：“踢足球”的英文表达是play football,“打篮球”是play basketball,“打乒乓球”是play table tennis.
I usually play basketball after school.
我经常放学后打篮球。
用法2
play还可以表示“演奏”乐器，后接表示乐器的名
词，与the连用；例如：“弹钢琴”的英文表达是play the piano,“弹吉他”的英文表达play the guitar.
I play the piano every day. 我每天都弹钢琴。
用法3
play还可以表示“打(牌)，下(棋〉”不与冠词连用，
但与game连用时，常与the连用。

They often play chess. 他们经常下棋。
用法4
常用短语有play with玩弄，比赛，play a part / role in
起……作用；play a trick on 捉弄；play a joke on 开玩笑；

她动起了出国留学的念头(但并非很认真)。
She never plays (at) cards. 她从来不玩牌。
