M: Hello. International Friends Club. Can I help you
W: Oh, hello. I read about your club in the paper today and I thought I'd phone to find out a bit more.
M: Yes, certainly, well ,we're a sort of social club for people from different countries. It's quite a
new club—we have about 50 members at the moment, but we're growing all the time.
W: That sounds interesting. I'm British actually, and I came to Washington about three months ago.
I'm looking for ways to meet people. Er, what kinds of events do you organize
M: Well, we have social get-togethers , and sports events, and we also have language evenings.
W: Could you tell me something about the language evenings
M: Yes. Every day except Thursday we have a language evening. People can come and practice their languages—you know, over a drink or something. We have different languages on different evenings. Monday—Spanish; Tuesday—Italian;Wednesday—German; and Friday—French. On Thursday we usually have a meal in a restaurant for anyone who wants to come.
W: Well, that sounds great. I really need to practise my French.
M: OK. Well, if you can just give me your name and address, I'll send you the form and some more information. If you join now you can have the first month free.

Text 1
W: I like long dresses usually. This green dress is nice, but it's too short.
M: What about this one It's dark blue rather than green, but it's longer. I quite like it.
W: Hmm... not sure. I'll try it. Maybe it will look better on!
Text 2
M: These are delicious. Did you grow them yourself
W: Yes, I had good potatoes this year. I have more luck with them than beans or tomatoes.
M: They really are tasty —not like the ones in the shops.
Text 3
M: How did you find my house so quickly I'm afraid there's no road sign along the street.
W: I found it on the digital map after we spoke on the phone five minutes ago.
Text 4
W: We should set off now. Our restaurant table is booked for 2:00 p. m. and it might be hard to get there in the snow.
M:I'll be ready shortly. I'm just waiting for a package to arrive.
W:Maybe the weather will make the delivery late.
Text 5
W: Carry on, please. We haven't reached the hotel yet.
M: Sorry, Miss. The car has run out of fuel. You’d better wait here while I go to find a gas station.
W: I hope it won't take too long.
Text 6
M: This painting is filled with unique colors and shapes.
W: I dislike it. It's beautiful, but I can't tell what I'm looking at. It doesn't look real at all.
M: That's all right, dear. Each painting carries a different message or feeling. The most important part of art is expressing yourself instead of making something beautiful.
W: Interesting. I've heard that it's often because of the feelings and inspiration shown through a work that an artist becomes popular.
M: Exactly. It's not about looking real or beautiful. Don't focus on details and styles when looking at paintings. View the following paintings and only try to feel the artists' feelings.
Text 7
M: Guess what My dad got four tickets to the final football game of the season.
W: How did he manage that I thought they sold out months ago.
M: They did, but he entered a radio competition and managed to get some.
W: That's amazing. Who is going with you
M: Well, my dad and my brother. It's a gift for my brother's birthday actually. Do you want the last ticket
W: I'd love it if that's OK.
M: Sure. We're in the same community. My dad thinks of you as part of our family.
W: Well, that's very kind of him. Thank you.
Text 8
W: Last week's earthquake was terrible, wasn't it
M: Yes, so many people lost their homes — and only five years after the last one.
W: I helped as much as I could with the rescue(援救) work. I made food for people as well.
M: I joined one of the rescue teams and pulled people from ruined buildings.
W: Are you prepared in case there is another earthquake It might happen right here.
M: As much as I can be. There isn't much you can do if it happens right where you are.
W: On the bright side, at least buildings built in the last ten years are strong enough.
M: Yes, but let's hope they'll never be put to the test.
W: I hope so. Bye for now. I need to buy some chairs for my parents, to replace the broken ones, you know.
Text 9
M: Helen, you haven't seemed like yourself recently.
W: Really I've finished all my schoolwork.
M: I didn't mean that your performance was poor. You've just seemed stressed. I wanted to make sure you're OK.
W: You're right, Mr. Johnson. I've been stressed with managing studying, friends, and sports.
M: Do you have anyone you can talk to about these issues
W: I often talk to my mom and dad about my issues.
M: It's probably a new experience to get advice from your teacher.
W: I'd love that.
M: I also had trouble in high school. So, I started making schedules for myself when I was in university. I scheduled studying, social breaks, and personal activities. This process helped me realize which activities were the most important. I've used this method until now too.
W: Cool. Thank you, Mr. Johnson. My biggest goal now is getting all my tasks done —this will help greatly.
M: You're welcome. And remember, take care of yourself!

With advances in digital healthcare technology, like AI, virtual reality and robots, the future of medicine is taking shape before our eyes. Maybe you are worried that computers, robots and AI will take over the jobs of doctors and nurses In fact, no one can stop technology from developing. At some point, every part of our lives will be changed through the power of digital technologies. Therefore, we must allow our minds to stay open to the possibilities. AI is a powerful tool that is set to change healthcare entirely. With the ability to look through medical records, AI can design treatment plans and develop drugs quicker than any current doctor. Using supercomputers, it is possible to create new drugs. Two drugs have already been found this way to treat Ebola. Virtual reality is changing the lives of doctors and patients. Every doctor's dream is to have powerful equipment which can analyze every disease. We now live in a world where these kinds of equipment exist. One piece of medical equipment can measure heart rate, temperature, blood pressure, and more.

根据第二段内容可知:....sebum which keeps our skin from getting dry, manages the health of our head skin and makes our hair shiny. But it also collects dirt, and, if left untouched for too long, sebum can cause our hair to become oily.
More expensive shampoos may contain less harsh surfactants, but—adds Laura Waters—the type of shampoo doesn't really matter. some surfactants work too well"and take the natural oils out of the hair, as well. But are any of these claims true Do we even need shampoo at all 但这些说法都是真的吗? So, yes, it seems we do have a need for shampoo, but we also shouldn’t expect it to be a miracle cure. And, finally, next time you’re in a shampoo aisle, remember that hair is made up of dead protein cells and that, sadly, not even the most expensive shampoo can bring them back to life. Shampoo — A necessity or not,故A选项正确。

We Are The Little Environmental Guards
To encourage the students to protect the environment,an activity called "We Are The Little Environmental Guards"was held by our school last weekend.
At 8:30 am,all the students in senior one gathered at the school gate. Then our teachers led us to the People’s Park. Upon arrival, we set about picking up the litters and cleaning the benches, which took us three hours . Tired but happy, we walked back school at noon.
In my opinion , this activity is rewarding because it not only helps us realize that we can make a difference to the environment but also makes our city cleaner.
The first day at our home was very difficult for the two dogs. They didn't understand anything but fear of humans. They stayed close to each other and mostly hid under tables or in dark corners . When we talked to them, they still couldn't make eye contact with us. I fetched some milk for them but they were too nervous to drink. My heart aching, I began telling them how sorry I was for the pain humans had caused them. My thoughts were filled with the unhappiness and fear they had endured year after year. I promised to them I would take care of them and smoothed their hearts with my tender love.
Though difficult,I did everything I could think of to help these dogs. When the whole house was quiet, I sat on the floor and talked to them. Hearing my gentle voice, they became calm and relieved. I fed them fresh dog food and milk every morning and took them for a walk in our beautiful garden. Over time they became friendlier and would wag their tails. I became the only person they trusted completely. When I called their names, they barked in delight with their tail wagging in a frenzy of happiness. Just as a saying goes, "love never fails." The lovely dogs opened their hearts to me in spite of everything they had experienced.
