Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a junior 3 student. I have lived in this city ever since I was born and I love this city very much. There are many beautiful areas in this city. I’m writing this letter because I find that there are some environmental problems we need to pay attention to.
First of all, I find that the rivers in the city which used to be very clean and beautiful are badly polluted. They are dirty and full of rubbish and also produce bad smell. There are some reasons for these problems. Firstly, there are not enough dustbins so people throw rubbish into the rivers. Secondly, the factories near the river pour waste water into the rivers. It is believed that the factories are the main causes. I think that governments should close down the factories and we can also call on everyone in this city to throw rubbish in the dustbins.
Another problem is that the rubbish disposal areas at the bottom of our apartment blocks are very unpleasant and smelly. Exactly speaking, there is rubbish coming out of the bins, and flies, cockroaches and rats running all over the rubbish. The ploblem is there because the rubbish collectors do not come often enough to collect the rubbish. Meanwhile, the people living here may also be throwing away too much rubbish. It’s a good idea to ask people to produce less rubbish. Besides, I strongly suggest that rubbish collectors collect rubbish more often as well.
I believe that a better environment can be created in this city and we could all pull together to acheive it. Yours faithfully,
