四、阅读理解
Some adults (成年人) think teenagers must be happy every day just because teenagers don't need to go to work. This idea is certainly wrong. Teenagers have their own problems.
First, they may be afraid that they don't have any friends. For them, friends are very important in life. Some of them refuse to listen to their parents because they think that their parents don't understand them and that their parents get angry easily. However, they may follow their friends' advice.
Second, they care about their looks. They may worry that they aren't tall enough. They may be laughed at by somebody else if they don't look pretty or handsome. For some girls, acne (粉刺) can sometimes make them worried.
Third, they don't know how to communicate (交流) with their parents. Many teenagers don't think they have understanding parents because their parents' ideas are always different from theirs. Sometimes they have much pressure (压力) because their parents are always asking them to study hard. If their parents don't let them go out with their friends, they will also become unhappy. In a word, it's necessary for parents and children to talk with each other more often.

Dear Toby,
I'm sorry to hear that you have problems with your parents.
As for your problem, I have two pieces of advice. First, finish your homework on time every day, and listen to the teachers carefully in class. Make sure that you won't fall behind. Second, have a talk with your parents. You should let them know that doing sports doesn't take up your study time. Instead, it is good for both your study and health.
Just be patient with your parents. I think they will understand you.
Yours,
David
