When I was nine years old, I loved to go fishing with my dad. But the only thing that wasn’t very fun about it was that he could catch many fish while I couldn’t catch anything. I usually got pretty upset and kept asking him why. He always answered, “Son, if you want to catch a fish, you have to think like a fish.” I remember being even more upset then because, “I’m not a fish!” I didn’t know how to think like a fish. Besides, I reasoned, how could what I think influence what a fish does
As I got a little older I began to understand what my dad really meant. So, I read some books on fish. And I even joined the local fishing club and started attending the monthly meetings. I learned that a fish is a cold-blooded animal and therefore is very sensitive to water temperature. That is why fish prefer shallow water to deep water because the former is warmer. Besides, water is usually warmer in direct sunlight than in the shade. Yet, fish don’t have any eyelids (眼皮) and the sun hurts their eyes. The more I understood fish, the more I became effective at finding and catching them.
When I grew up and entered the business world, I remember hearing my first boss say, “We all need to think like sales people.” But it didn’t completely make sense. My dad never once said, “If you want to catch a fish you need to think like a fisherman.” What he said was, “You need to think like a fish.” Years later, with great efforts to promote long-term services to people much older and richer than me, I gradually learned what we all need is to think more like customers. It is not an easy job. I will show you how in the following chapters.
4. Why was the author upset in fishing trips when he was nine
A. His father was not patient with him.
B. He could not catch a fish.
C. His father did not teach him fishing.
D. He could not influence a fish as his father did.
5. What did the author’s father really mean
A. To read about fish. B. To learn fishing by oneself.
C. To study fishing in many ways. D. To understand what fish think.
6. After entering the business world, the author found ________.
A. it easy to think like a customer
B. his first boss’s sales ideas reasonable
C. his father’s fishing advice inspiring
D. it difficult to sell services to poor people
7. This passage most likely comes from ________.
A. a popular sales book B. a fishing guide
C. a novel on childhood D. a millionaire’s biography
【答案】4. B 5. C 6. C 7. A

Eating a healthy diet is not about strict limitations, staying abnormally thin, or rid yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about feeling great, having more energy, improving your health, and raising your mood. So healthy eating doesn’t mean you have to cook tough food.
If you feel confused by all the conflicting nutrition and diet advice out there, you’re not alone. It seems that for every expert who tells you a certain food is good for you, you’ll find another saying exactly the opposite. So think more when facing that. The truth is that while some specific foods or nutrients have been shown to have a beneficial effect on mood, it’s your overall eating pattern that is most important. The cornerstone of a healthy diet should be to replace processed food with real food whenever possible. Eating food that is as close as possible to the way nature made it can make a huge difference to the way you think, look, and feel.
While some extreme diets may suggest otherwise, we all need a balance of protein, fat, fiber, vitamins, and minerals in our diets to remain a healthy body. You don’t need to eliminate certain food from your diet, but rather select the healthiest options from each category. Besides, you should change your dieting habit.
Switching to a healthy diet doesn’t have to be an all or nothing proposition. You don’t have to be perfect and you don’t have to change everything all at once. A better approach is to make a few small changes at a time, Think of planning a healthy diet as a number of small, manageable steps-like adding a salad to your diet once a day. As your small changes become habits, you can continue to add more healthy choices.
8. Which of the following is a real healthy diet
A. One that helps you stay thin. B. One full of most nutrition.
C. One with strict cooking rules. D. One that makes you energetic.
9. What should you do when facing the masters’ advice on health
A. Be careful about it. B. Try it with your family.
C. Follow it completely. D. See if it satisfies you.
10. What does the underlined word “eliminate” in Paragraph 3 mean
A. Pick. B. Benefit. C. Remove. D. Improve.
11. What may help you become a healthy eater
A Trying to seek for perfection. B. Learning from an expert at cooking.
C. Changing your eating habit gradually. D. Cooking with only vegetables and fruit.
【答案】8. D 9. A 10. C 11. C
【解析】

【8题详解】

Rather, it’s about feeling great, having more energy, improving your health, and raising your mood.(健康的饮食并不是严格的限制,保持异常的苗条,或者摆脱你喜欢的食物。相反,它是关于感觉良好,有更多的精力,改善你的健康,提高你的情绪)”可知,“让你精力充沛饮食”是真正的健康饮食。故选D。
【9题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段“It seems that for every expert who tells you a certain food is good for you, you’ll find another saying exactly the opposite. So think more when facing that.(似乎每有专家告诉你某种食物对你有益,你就会发现另一种完全相反的说法。所以面对这个问题时要多想想)”可知,面对养生大师的建议,你应该小心谨慎。故选A。
【10题详解】
词句猜测题。根据画线词上文“While some extreme diets may suggest otherwise, we all need a balance of protein, fat, fiber, vitamins, and minerals in our diets to remain a healthy body.(虽然一些极端的饮食可能会有不同的建议,但我们都需要在饮食中平衡蛋白质、脂肪、纤维、维生素和矿物质,以保持健康的身体)”以及后文“certain food from your diet, but rather select the healthiest options from each category”可知,虽然一些极端的饮食可能会有不同的建议,但我们都需要在饮食中平衡蛋白质、脂肪、纤维、维生素和矿物质,以保持健康的身体,所以你不需要从你的饮食中去除某些食物,而是从每个类别中选择最健康的选项。故画线词意思是“去除”。故选C。
【11题详解】
细节理解题。根据最后一段“Switching to a healthy diet doesn’t have to be an all or nothing proposition. You don’t have to be perfect and you don’t have to change everything all at once. A better approach is to make a few small changes at a time, Think of planning a healthy diet as a number of small, manageable steps-like adding a salad to your diet once a day. As your small changes become habits, you can continue to add more healthy choices.(转向健康饮食并不一定是一个全有或全无的命题。你不需要变得完美,也不需要一下子改变一切。一个更好的方法是一次做一些小的改变,把健康的饮食计划想象成一些小的、可管理的步骤——比如每天在你的饮食中添加一次沙拉。当你的小改变变成习惯时,你可以继续增加更多健康的选择)”可知,逐渐改变饮食习惯可以帮助你成为一个健康的饮食者。故选C。

“Admirable! But I hear that a girl called Linda is really gifted and strong. She can be your real well-matched e on!”
After Jessica left, Mary decided to practice the most difficult spin (高速旋转). “If I don’t try harder, I won’t grasp this chance,” she thought. But her arm began to hurt, making her worried. After the pain was gone, she continued to warm up.
Then a slim girl hurried in and put down a bag on the chair. Then, she took out her dance dress quickly and put it on skillfully. Seeing Mary, she smiled politely and said, “Hi, I’m Linda. I am a participant in the competition, too.” Mary nodded in reply but felt uncomfortable. “She is just my competitor. Because of her, I may lose tonight.” Her mind was wandering when Linda screamed, “Oh, I can’t find my music tape!” Linda searched her bag but in vain. “It might have been missing on the way.” With these words, she then rushed out.

We are the best.” Soon, it was her turn to perform.
