Last week a teenager in my community died in a car accident after a drinks party. Can you give me some advice on how to talk to my sons about alcohol (酒) They're 7 and 11.
—Dan
Holly: My advice is to start talking about alcohol early. Kids who try alcohol before 15 are four times more likely to develop alcoholism (酗酒) than those who begin after 20. The accident in your community provides you with a good chance to talk to your kids about alcohol: “How terrible! It's dangerous for kids to drink alcohol and it's against the law (法律).”
Carmen: My advice is to give your kids facts. “But why are adults allowed to drink They meet with accidents, too!” Your sons might ask.
“You're right, dear. That's why nobody should drink and then drive. Alcohol does change the brain, but that change is temporary (暂时的) for adults. When kids try alcohol, it actually changes the way their brains develop, so the change is long-lasting.” You could answer like this.
Ruby: My advice is to keep communication open. They might say, “A lot of kids try alcohol. Why do I have to wait ” You can reply, “Some kids around you might drink and naturally you are curious (好奇的) about it. You can always tell me and ask me anything you want. I don't want you to drink now. When you are an adult, whether you drink or not is up to you. Right now, though, it is up to me to help you protect yourself.”

Do you have to wear uniforms to school every day Do you like them Do you just want to wear your own clothes. Many students just wonder why they can't wear whatever they like, for teenagers want to be different from others.
In fact, there are several reasons why wearing school uniforms is a good idea. First of all, uniforms help the students feel that they belong to a particular (特别的) group. When every student in the school wears the uniform, nobody has to worry about fashion. Everybody wears the same style of clothes. Uniforms can be useful in unexpected ways. A school in Ireland has introduced an interesting new uniform. On the edge (边缘) of the jacket, there is a piece of cloth which gives off light in the dark. When the children are walking or cycling to school on dark mornings, car drivers can easily see them. But can uniforms help improve school standards The answer to this question is not clear. One study in America found that students' grades improved a little after the school introduced uniforms. But some students didn't want to wear the uniform. Other American studies showed that uniforms have nothing to do with the school performance.
School uniforms are traditional in Britain, but some schools are starting to get rid of them. Some students do not have to wear uniforms now. However, uniforms are still popular. Pupils at about 90 percent of British secondary schools wear uniforms.

It's the lunchtime break at a middle school in Shanghai. No mobile phones can be heard ringing anywhere. The common sight of crowds of children chatting (聊天) on their phones or sending short messages has disappeared.
A Grade 2 student said, “I couldn't concentrate (集中注意力) during classes if the cellphone was with me. I couldn't help checking if there were messages or missed phone calls. I even played games on the phone sometimes.”
The school says they feel the ban (禁令) is necessary to keep order in class. They even gave out an open letter to remind parents not to let their children bring mobile phones to school. More than 96 percent of parents say they welcome the school's decision. The school is also flexible (灵活的) in implementing the ban. Those students who live far from school are allowed to bring mobile phones to get in touch with their parents. But they still have to turn them off in classrooms.

I was just watching the news and seeing an interesting story. It is about a high school kid that is fighting to be allowed to take his assistance (援助) dog to school. The school worries that the other students will watch the dog all the time and won't listen to the teacher.
In my opinion, I think it would be a good learning experience for all the students. It would help make the relationship between the blind child and his assistance dog stronger. When I was in the 9th grade, there was a blind student who came to school part-time and he usually brought his dog. It didn't influence our studies. Though in the beginning, many of us were curious (好奇的) about the dog, we soon became used to it. In fact, he showed us what his dog could do for him after class, and we learned a lot about assistance dogs.
I can also tell you that assistance dogs help the blind a lot. Children, even adults, don't always know how to deal with or treat someone with disability. If you put a dog next to that person, it can help that person better. The dog is usually very well trained. It will not hurt anyone. So I think assistance dogs should be allowed to be taken to school.
Anyway, this is just my opinion. What do you think of it

A.Going to school alone.

One Possible Version:
This term, our school has a new rule that students mustn't bring their mobile phones to school. I totally agree (I think this new rule is good for us).
Firstly, many students use their mobile phones to chat or play games all the time and even in class. It's bad for our study. Secondly, if you really have something important and want to call your parents, you can ask your teachers for help. They're always ready to help you, so there's no need to bring the mobile phones to school.
All in all, our school makes rules to help us and we should obey them. Don't bring your mobile phones to school and remember to use your mobile phones in a right way.
