China's national anthem, March of the Volunteers, is a song that we learn at the beginning of primary school and sing at every flag-raising ceremony. And now, there's even a law to protect it. The government passed the National Anthem Law, which became effective (生效) from Oct. 1, 2017. It states how we should sing or play the song, requiring all of us to behave towards it politely.
Primary and middle schools must teach the anthem to their students and make them understand the song's spirit and history. Moreover, the law requires us to be serious when we are singing the song. We can't joke about it or change the song's words or music. If someone breaks the law, he or she can be detained for up to 15 days, or face further punishment in more serious situations. The national anthem is different from other songs — it is the symbol of our country.
Many foreign countries also have laws for their national anthems. For example, American school children should put their right hand over their heart while singing their country's anthem at school. In Russia, the national anthem must be played on television and radio before the start and end of broadcasting. It's a schoolday morning. You are dressing yourself in the bedroom. Meanwhile, you are reminding yourself to catch your backpack from the living room. But as you walk through your bedroom door and into the living room, you suddenly forget why you go there.
Most people would blame themselves for having a bad memory. But scientists believe that the act of walking through doorways makes us forget things. They call it the “doorway effect (门口效应)”.
Scientists from the University of Notre Dame in the US did an experiment. They placed several objects (物品) into two rooms. Students had to put an object from room A into a shoebox and then carry it to room B through a doorway. In room B, they exchanged it for another object and brought it back to room A in the shoebox. To compare, students were asked to do the same task without crossing through a doorway.
During the experiment, scientists would randomly (随机地) ask the students which object was currently in their shoebox. Scientists found that the students' answers were slower and less correct when they walked through a doorway and into a new room.
“Entering through a doorway serves as a ‘boundary (分界线)’ in the mind,” lead scientist Gabriel Radvansky told Scientific American. Setting “boundaries” in our minds helps us to organize (规划) the content of our brains, but it can also cause us to forget things.
For example, when you walk into the living room, your brain thinks the task of getting your backpack is already “done” and it moves on.
Is there a way to stop the doorway effect Writing down what you need to do before going into another room might be helpful.

For the first time in their history, the 18th Asian Games, which took place in Jakarta, Indonesia from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2, 2018, made e-sports as an event.
Players from 27 countries and regions (地区), including China and Japan, competed in six different video games, such as “Hearthstone (《炉石传说》)” and “League of Legends (《英雄联盟》)”. E-sports events will appear in the 2022 Asian Games as an official competitive program, The Paper reported.
So does this mean that kids now have a new excuse to play video games Not exactly. For one thing, not everyone agrees that e-sports qualify as an actual competitive event. Some people believe sports should be more physical to count as “real” sports, the BBC reported. Second, not everyone who plays video games can become a professional e-sports athlete.
“Just like any other sports competitor, you need to have exceptional (特别突出的) skills, such as being able to quickly analyze a situation and think on your feet (反应迅速). Only those who are top players in their games can become professional athletes,” said Wu Meng, 26, champion of the 2014 NetEase E-sports League.
And just like any other athlete, one has to put in a lot of hard work and training to compete in e-sports.
“Every day, I train for up to 15 hours, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.,” said Zhang Chi, 20, a player in China's King Pro League. “It can be very tiring. Some players even seriously injure their backs and shoulders,” Zhang added.

C.On 19 Sept., 2018. D.On 2 Sept., 2018.
( )69.How many different video games were played at the 18th Asian Games
A.18. B.2. C.27. D.6.
( )70.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage
A.The 18th Asian Games made e-sports as an event.
B.China didn't take part in the 18th Asian Games.
C.27 e-sports athletes competed at the 18th Asian Games.
D.E-sports was an official program at the 2018 Asian Games.
( )71.Why don't some people think e-sport is an actual competitive event
A.Because it is less physical than “real” sports.
B.Because it is more tiring than “real” sports.
C.Because not everyone can play it well.
D.Because it can seriously injure people.
( )72.What would be the best title for the passage

While you are asleep, many animals are awake and having fun! These animals are called nighttime animals. This doesn't really mean that they never come out during the day. 73. Because they are active when other animals are not, they don't have to compete with daytime animals for food.
Since they work mostly at night, many nighttime animals have at least one highly developed sense. 74. Some super senses that many nighttime animals have are:
Super sight Some nighttime animals have very large eyes for seeing at night. For example, an owl's (猫头鹰的) eyes fill more than half its head! 75. Because their eyes are so sensitive (敏感的) to light, nighttime animals try to avoid daylight, which hurts their eyes.
Super hearing Other nighttime animals, such as some bats (蝙蝠), have large ears that allow them to hear better at night. 76. Sensitive hearing allows nighttime animals to hear danger or a possible meal before they can see it.
Super sensitive paws (爪) 77. For example, a raccoon's (浣熊的) paws are so sensitive that it can hold things under water and tell whether those things will be tasty to eat!
A.These large eyes allow the animals to take in more light.
B.They are good at catching small animals at night.
C.Some bats' ears can be as large as their whole bodies!
D.That sense allows them to see, hear, or smell better in the dark.
E.Nighttime animals often go out to find their food at night.

Music is very important in our life. It can make us relaxed when we are under too much pressure. It can also express our feelings about everything. When we're excited, we sing or listen to music and dance to music. When we're sad, we listen to some light music, it can cheer us up.
Music is with us all the time. Beautiful music can make us love the world more. I like pop music very much. And my favorite music band is the Flower Band. They like dancing while singing. Every time when I listen to them sing, I always can't help dancing. I like their singing lifestyle.
I like music, and my life is full of music.
