One possible version:
The next day, Laura and her mother built a goal and made a training plan. Every night before dinner, they headed to an old car garage for one hour, where Laura practised moving the ball by dodging around old tyres, pretending she was protecting the ball from the best players in the world. Her mother recorded everything secretly. When Laura’s mother showed her the videos, she saw her mistakes carefully and corrected them. Days into weeks, Laura’s leg muscles strengthened through practices and her skills improved a lot. More encouragingly, their practice attracted many children to join.
Then came the next season. On the field, one of the best players got hurt suddenly. Laura was sitting at her usual place, at the end of the bench when the coach came over and told her to go in. Laura was nervous, excited and terrified all at the same time. Stepping onto the court, she thought of the gold key that her mother had given --- a reminder to be strong and not give up, which gave her courage and confidence. Instead of being afraid, she was “pumped” and quickly found that all her extra work was paying off. Won! Laura’s team won!

I’d always enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together again since I was a child, so when I left school, I decided to become a mechanic. I studied hard and eventually got my qualifications and started working.

It was a big change, but I was excited. I learnt a lot about the different systems on the ship and how to keep them running. It was a challenge and so different from before, I struggled at first but I enjoyed it once I got used to it. I felt a great sense of satisfaction when I fixed things.
The crew were all very helpful and it was a great experience. I travelled all over the world and saw some amazing places. I completed my work and travelled. I learnt a lot about the different cultures and was able to use the skills I learnt in my training. Eventually, I returned to my country and started my own repair shop.锦州市2023~2024 学年度第一学期期末考试

When I first heard about Summit Learning, I admitted I was not a bit happy and excited at all. I thought it would require interactions with others. But later, I was astonished when I got to experience it firsthand.
Recently, we did a poetry project, and one of the activities was a peer review. I would never have taken part if it was up to me, as I preferred to work independently. But when I got involved, I found in the experience, I had done something that I thought was nearly impossible it made my poetry better. My partner informed me of my mistakes and told me where I could give more detail.
One of our final products of the project was to present our poetry to the class. I've always loved public speaking but I thought with Summit Learning, I would have fewer chances to speak. I was wrong. The peer activities we did with a partner gave me more belief in my ability and inspired me to do more to make my presentation the best it could possibly be.
Interactions like these are what Summit Learning is all about. This style of learning brings a positive and hard-working culture that allows us to push our boundaries and keep going
As an active boy, I have always been ahead and advanced, but in a normal classroom, there are restrictions on what I can do. With Summit Learning, I can go beyond expectations in projects or move ahead in learning new content when I'm ready. I have ownership of my work and pursue my goals.
Summit Learning has showed me how much people can grow and change. It has helped me see people and myself differently. It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I cannot see myself going back to a normal classroom.

Climate change has been a long-standing issue. The universe's most abundant element, hydrogen(氢), has drawn the scientists' attention and is now on its way to becoming the future of green fuel.
More than $150 billion worth of green hydrogen projects were announced globally in 2020. A
European multinational aerospace corporation has taken the lead in the new sustainable fuel industry. It has designed self-contained hydrogen fuel cell pods(电池舱) that can be attached to the underside of airplane wings, promoting the use of hydrogen fuel for long-distance flights, which aim to achieve zero emissions.
Compared to fossil fuels, hydrogen is a much more eco-friendly fuel. When hydrogen burns, the only by-product is water. However, the traditional way to get hydrogen from natural gas or coal generates considerable carbon emissions. The greenest way is to obtain hydrogen from water using electrolysis(电解) powered by renewable energy, although this process requires so much electricity. The key to making hydrogen competitive with fossil fuels is to lower the production cost.
Also, shipping liquid hydrogen is challenging, given that needs to be chilled to -253℃ to do so.
Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries is set to complete the construction of the world's first liquefied hydrogen carrier by early 2021. Most of the world's big hydrogen export projects are looking to ship hydrogen in the form of liquid ammonia(氨), which can be changed to hydrogen and needs to be chilled to only -33 C.
With more and more countries aiming to cut down carbon emissions to solve the issue of global warming, green hydrogen will help decarbonizing(碳减排) industries that can't be electrified hit the targets.
“We could use these circumstances, where loads of public money are going to be needed into the energy system, to jump forward towards a hydrogen economy,” said Diederik Samsom, who heads the
European Commission's climate cabinet.

I often find myself running late on the edge of missing appointments. It's not that I enjoy being late, but somehow, it keeps happening. A delayed train, a miscalculation in time, a wrong turn the reasons for my lateness are many. I dislike being late, and yet, I frequently find myself in a rush or arriving behind schedule.
Michaela Thomas, a Swedish psychologist, calls people like me “time optimists” or “tidsoptimists”. We underestimate how long tasks will take and overestimate the time we have. As a result, we often find ourselves rushing, causing stress for both ourselves and those around us. It creates a domino effect of chaos, annoyance, and inconvenience for everyone involved. It can even have severe consequences.
The causes of standing lateness are complex. People, according to Jung, fall into two categories: “timekeepers” and “time enders”. Timekeepers work methodically, stay organized, and usually finish tasks ahead of schedule. In contrast, time enders, like me, push things to the last minute, feeling most energized and creative when under pressure.
Many see procrastination (拖 延) as a key reason for lateness, but it's not simply a time management issue. Fuschia Sirois, a professor of social and health psychology, believes procrastination often arises from mood management. People put off tasks to avoid dealing with emotions like anxiety, fear, or frustration. It can also be a form of rebellion when faced with boring or uncontrollable tasks.
Is there a solution for latecomers Researchers suggest creating pre-event deadlines for important occasions like a wedding or catching a flight, so that the extra time can help you avoid being late when unforeseen circumstances arise. You can inform friends, family, and colleagues about your commitment to punctuality and ask for their support in helping you stay on time. For everyday improvement, setting alert s on phones for getting ready instead of departure time, breaking tasks into smaller, manageable parts and prioritizing time-flexible tasks can be helpful.

Whether you're an introvert(内向的人) or extrovert, quiet or loud, one of the key s to success in every area of your life is learning how to be more confident. Here are some things that can help you become more self-confident!
Train your brain. 36 Instead of immediately assuming you can't accomplish something, believe you have what it takes to figure it out. Like Marie Forleo always says, “Everything is figureoutable.”
Watch your words. Whether you realize it or not, the words you speak shape your beliefs about yourself and what others believe about you. 37 The act of gossiping and putting others down always comes from a place of insecurity, so if you catch yourself wanting to say something sarcastic(讽刺的), redirect those thoughts to something better.
38 In her research, social psychologist Amy Cuddy found that confident people have higher levels of testosterone and that people's levels of testosterone can rise simply by exhibiting a “high power pose.” We've all heard the phrase “Fake it till you make it,” but Amy took this a step further and said, “Fake it till you become it.”
Be secure. Being secure in who you are means that, although you might make a mistake or fail, you know you're not a failure. 39
Get experience. Nothing builds self-confidence like experience. After you've done the thing once you've led the company meeting, published your first blog, or coached your first client—your confidence in your ability to do it again will increase. 40
A. Stay positive.
B. Change your body language.
C. Just do it, and watch your confidence take off.
D. That also goes for what we speak about others.
E. You can learn how to be more confident in your mind.
F. You have the power to be more confident within yourself.
G. It means someone might disagree with you, but it doesn't shake you up.

At Piedmont School, everyone wanted to be on the soccer team. Laura had dreamed of earning glory for the Falcons ever since she had witnessed her older brother scoring the winning goal. On the day she joined the team, she felt like she could fly.
Unfortunately, her joy did not last long. She spent most of the matches on the bench. Walking to the car after the last game, Laura's mother asked if she was feeling fine. Laura kept quiet and tried to smile at her mother. Having spent yet another game as a reserve, Laura had not even broken a sweat. Laura also joked that she would have baked in the hot sun if she had played. Her mother assured her that she would have another chance to play. She also cheered Laura on. Laura could only shake her head as she climbed into the seat, back hunched and face down.
A few days later, Laura's mother found she sprawled on the couch, watching music videos on her phone, so she tried asking Laura to watch soccer videos instead. Laura looked at her mother blankly, rolling her eyes. “They won't help me and I can't get better by myself,” Laura said.
Sighing, her mother sank down on the couch. “Laura, for every lock, there is a key. We just have to find it. What if I film you practicing to help you find ways to improve ”
“But the season's over, Mum. No more practice, remember ” Laura said. Her mother looked at her resolutely and insisted that the best players keep practicing even when the season is over. Laura protested, “But to practice plays, I would need at least one other person to join me! It is difficult to do that alone.”
Laura's mother patted her and said, “We’ll find that key too, but we have to start somewhere.” While Laura's mother was searching her wallet for her gold key, she smiled gently at Laura. She gave Laura an assuring no d before passing her the key. “This key is a reminder for you to be strong and not give up. Let's build something tomorrow.” Laura's mother said.
